I brought my car in for a diagnosis that I was told would be free if covered by Warranty. There were additional issues with my car that they chose to fix without getting my approval. I have never been to a dealership that has charged me without my approval of the diagnosed issue before, but apparently they do this regularly and said it was OK. Be careful when dealing with Laura Stout and the manager, Mark Conroy. Text message history Laura Stout: That is correct. You would sign on for a diagnoses fee of $240.00 and if it is the clock spring then the diagnoses fee would go away. Laura Stout: Hi Laura. Would this be covered by warranty? Attached diagnosis from Tom (very nice man) at AAA auto and Tires center. Finding: horn operation Recommendation: no contact through clock spring Notes Confirmed no horn operation from the steering wheel. The horn will activate with alarm and while lock/unlocking vehicle. tested power at fuse(good) tested power on two side of the relay (good) ground and continuity to the horn from relay(good) powered horn from the relay and it is operational. Found no ground signal from the horn switch in the steering wheel, to the command side of the relay. Installed a relay tester in between the relay and horn relay terminal. I can simulate a round signal from the horn switch and horn operates. Horn circuit test good. I need to remove the Airbag in the steering wheel to gain access to the clock spring to test switch and continuity through the clock spring. Upon discharging system and testing continuity through the clock spring, I found that the circuit is open. recommend replace the clock spring and recheck operation. Laura Stout: It should be covered.
