After week's struggle and opening a case I got appointment scheduled for today to install my DVD which was promised at the sale which was valued at $1000 (close to factory installed) but when they appointment scheduled for today to install my DVD which was promised at the sale which was valued at $1000 (close to factory installed) but when they actually installed it today it was a DVD player which costing around $150 when searched in internet and apart from that after the installation they never cleaned the vechile the mess made while instalation. They had all foot print marks on leather seats and stained carpet also they promised to do a complimentary car wash which was never performed. They didn't even bother to clean it even after asking. WORST Experience and worst service and BIG cheaters promised for a DVD which is eqvalent to the factory installed but ended with cheap stuff. Thanks, Praveen More
There is no sense of customer service at this dealer. I won’t recommend to anyone. Here is my case to justify the opinion. I bought a certified 03 Camry from Fremont Toyota in 2007 with an extended warrant won’t recommend to anyone. Here is my case to justify the opinion. I bought a certified 03 Camry from Fremont Toyota in 2007 with an extended warranty and reimbursement guarantee. I paid $2k extra on top of car price for this. It is suppose to cover for 7 years or 100k miles whichever comes first. Early this year car developed some problem with engine and transmission which I thought would be covered by this warranty as the car has little less than 80k and within 4 years since I bought it. But service department told him that my warranty is not good anymore as it expired as of 2010, 7 years from 1st date of purchase. I thought that I didn’t read agreement correctly but when I verified my reimbursement form, the expiration date mentioned is in 2014 (7 years from the date I bought). Initially I was told by their finance person that it is mistake in reimbursement form by their finance or sales team and I should be able to get my reimbursement money back. 4 weeks later they are telling me that reimbursement is handled through separate agency and I need to wait till that date to get reimbursement. Not sure who made the mistake, nobody wants to take ownership of this problem and anytime I inquire about it, their response is that we requested your documents from cold storage and still we haven’t got it. Experience with service department is another story. Within a week after I purchased this car, observed a howling noise from front passenger side. I was told then by their service department nothing to worry, it just a tire noise and sometimes it happens if tire and tube combination doesn't match. Moreover, it is a certificated car there is no reason to worry. 6 months later they advise me to change transmission fluid flush and I did spend $500 doing it. Thinking it is regular maintenance stuff. Within a year they again recommended for one more transmission fluid flush which I didn't do due to lack of any proper explanation why it is needed within a year. In the meantime, noise was still persisted and become more prominent. Right after my warranty expired, service department diagnosed this noise issue is a problem with wheel bearing and recommended not to drive like this as it is damaging the transmission system. Fix requires $1200 plus $500 transmission fluid flush. To top it up, now engine warning lights are on due to catalytic converter busted, which is another $2500. Their service department assistant manger is the only person in this dealing who was customer friendly and covered the catalytic converter under 8 year/80k miles warranty. Not to mention, my friend who got Avalon around same time as me has already junked his car due to transmission problem. It is a very sad experience as I have to lose my car that I spent almost 20k. I will not buy another Toyota nor go to this dealer!!! Very unsatisfied customer!!! More
Everybody is wonderful until after you buy the car. I have gone back four times for the same problem. They also changed my warranty after I bought the vehicle. I got less for the same amount. Twice I mad have gone back four times for the same problem. They also changed my warranty after I bought the vehicle. I got less for the same amount. Twice I made a appointment and they had no one there to fix it. Then I started having problems with the brakes after a month and they said it was cheap pads and they won't fix it. The original problem still isn't fixed,a broken radio holder they keep saying they ordered the part and I show up and it's not there. Also some on the panel lights were out. they fixed them but they put it back together wrong. When you put the heater on hot it shows cold. It's very frustrating. Everybody talks about Toyota.I can at least tell them where not to go. Today I was told one of there persons are sick. They said to leave it and they would look at it. But they wouldn't have time to fix it. Would you leave it! I couldn't believe the manager said this to me. More

When I have proof there is a real problem and they agreed, the issue has gotten worst. Brake failure is a serious problem. Fremont Toyota is not accepting responsibly for their incompetent mechanics wants to charge me $864. This is in addition to $460 of work already done with Fremont Toyota on July 6th, 2010. From my perspective, my car was running fine when I brought it in on July 6th. I thought I should get a tune-up and perhaps replace the timing belt since it's at 96K miles. After my tune-up, the bill was $460.15. Fremont Toyota recommended a multi-point inspection, replace air filter element, replace cabin air filter, and replace rear brake pad/shoes and resurface rotors/drums. The service person told me everything else looks good. Shortly after the service, I noticed the car doesn't drive the same. I can't quite place the problem. The engine seemed louder and rougher. My car engine was not quite like before. I thought I imagined it. As time passed, the engine sounded more and more labored. When I stepped on the gas, the car had a pull like dragging something. The engine revved at 2500 RPM almost touching 3000 RPM mark. This is a visible sign and proof something is wrong. At the same time, I noticed there oil leaks on my driveway. I parked my car on the road after the repair and didn't notice the oil leak until I park on the driveway recently. I brought the car to Fremont Toyota at 7am and showed them the oil stained paper to proof there is an oil leak. I also described the revving engine and rough sounds. At 11am I received a call from the Assistant Service Manager, Mingo Galleto, that indeed the oil gasket was broken by the technician when he changed the oil. They replaced the gasket free of charge, but there is nothing else wrong with the car. He said he even test drove it and didn't hear or feel problems with the car. He assured me that he just drove a similar year and model, Camry 2004, and it sounded the same. I went to the shop and Mingo rode with me for a test drive at around 1:30pm. We got on 880 and when I hit around 50 mph the engine sound louder. As I hit 60mph my steering wheel shakes slightly. At this point Mingo assured me that my tires are not balanced. At 70 mph, my car started to drag when I accelerated. The car was revving close to 3000 rpm as I described to him in the morning. He confirmed this is abnormal and it's a problem. We got off the next exit and headed back to Fremont Toyota on Auto Mall. When we got to Costco, just a block or so from Toyota, we smell something coming from the car. When we pulled over, we saw smoke coming from the driver-side front wheel. Mingo told me the brakes are overheating. He drove the car back to the shop after the brakes cooled to evaluate the problem. I got a call from Mingo at 2:03pm. He said the brake’s caliper broke. The caliper, brake pads and the rotors has to be replaced totaling $1140 dollars. Because I was inconvenienced, so they will give me a discount for $864.00. He said he can use aftermarket parts, non-Toyota parts, and it will be $697. To me it is unacceptable to ask me to pay for the whole braking system. Toyota should take responsibility because of faulty diagnosis (twice!) and the technician not doing a proper job to service the car. I spoke with Bill Martin, Fremont Toyota Service Manager, at 5:51pm. He argued the following points: 1) The service on July 6th did nothing to the front brakes. They inspected the front brakes as part of the service and there was nothing wrong. My contention is the problem only appeared after I had done the service. Though he claimed the technician did nothing to the front brakes, the broken gasket is an indication of the lack of quality and detail to their work. As a consumer with no mechanical knowledge, I have no idea what parts were removed for inspection and not properly replaced. 2) Caliper can fail anytime. Bill Martin pointed out even if Toyota replaced the front brakes pad, broken calipers are not their responsibility. My front brakes pad were replaced by another shop a long time ago. I never had problems with them. Bill Martin and Mingo both said caliper breakage is irrelevant to the brake pad change yet they insist I should talk to the other shop. The caliper were not replaced, it is an original factory part. 3) Toyota did not properly inspected the car when it was dropped of this morning even after I told them of the problem. Bill Martin insisted I didn't specify it is a brake problem, therefore, they did not inspect the brake this morning and not liable for the brake problems. From my description, Mingo noted in the written order, revving issue at 60-70 rpm and rough engine sounds. They must of inspected the car for something. I had no way of knowing the brakes were failing and specifically the caliper broke. There is no way for me to insist they inspect the front brakes. Mingo told me he test drove it and there is nothing wrong with the car. They did not do due diligence to inspect the car until I proofed there was a problem. My family and I could be seriously injured if the brakes locked up while driving on the freeway. This could have been a dangerous situation and not just a financial concern. More

THROUGHOUT MY VISIT TO FREMONT TOYOTA SERVICES,ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES DIDN'T GIVE MY THE EXACT INFORMATION ABOUT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ABOUT TO EXPIRE, THAT WAS THE FIRST LIE. I LATER LEARNED THAT THIS WAS EMPLOYEES DIDN'T GIVE MY THE EXACT INFORMATION ABOUT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ABOUT TO EXPIRE, THAT WAS THE FIRST LIE. I LATER LEARNED THAT THIS WAS NOT TRUE AND REALLY EXPIRES IN THE YEAR OF 2011. THROUGH OUT MY SERVICE, I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A DENT THAT WAS PAINTED OVER PAINT IN MY VEHICLE. AND OF COURSE THEY TRIED TO DENY BUT I KNEW IT WAS THEM. THAT WAS THE SECOND LIE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO COMPLAIN THAT MY BACK DOOR WAS COMING UP WAY TOO FAST AND ONE OF MY CHILDREN MIGHT GET HURT.THE SERVICE GUY SAID THEY DIDN'T DO NOTHING TO THE BACK DOOR BUT THEY DID. THAT'S THE THIRD LIE. I SPOKE WITH HIS MANAGER AND EVERYTHING CAME OUT THAT THEY DID REPLACE THE SHOCKS IN THE BACK OF THE DOOR WITH THE INCORRECT ONES. AND ADMITTED THAT THEY WERE THE ONES TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE IN MY VEHICLE. I TOLD THE MANAGER THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THE SERVICE GUY THAT WAS ATTENDING ME AT FIRST AND THE MANAGER OFFERED THAT HE COULD ASSIST ME THOUGH OUT MY SERVICES OF MY VEHICLE. THEY WERE GOING TO CHECK A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THEIR JOB IS COMPLETED. IT TOOK THEM ABOUT TWO WEEKS. I ONLY GOT THREE CALLS WITHIN THE TIME SPAND. THEY WERE NICE TO PROVIDE US WITH A VEHICLE ONLY TO DEMAND BACK THEIR VEHICLE BEFORE WE PICKED UP OUR VEHICLE. EVEN, THEY WENT TO MY OFFICE TO PICK UP THE RENTAL CAR. I WAS STRANDED THERE WITH NO ONE TO TAKE ME TO FREMONT TOYOTA WHICH PERSONALLY I THINK IS REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL OF TOYOTA. More
Lies, lies and more lies. Nothing written or said was true. The trip there was a total waste of time. I don't know how this place is still in business!! You see, I applied online for a loan. When I true. The trip there was a total waste of time. I don't know how this place is still in business!! You see, I applied online for a loan. When I spoke with Anita (the finance specialist), she assured me everything was in order and even gave me an approval number. Included in the bait was: 30 days if needed for any down payment and the lender would start payments in mid March on the car of my choice. Wow!!!! All was B.S.!!! The used car I wanted was perfect for my budget. I test drove it and knew this was the car for me. Sadly though, Anita could not get me financing on the car I wanted. It had too many miles on it....wouldn't I care to look at the other cars she had already mentioned? Ironically folks, these cars and their mileage were comparable to the car I wanted. It's just that the one I had picked out was about 4-5 thousand dollars less!!! I thanked Miss Anita for her time and left Fremont Toyota with my approval number in my hand and placed it in their garbage can...which is much nicer than what I thought of doing with it!!!!! Don't shop there.....unless you're looking for a guaranteed disappointment. More
The sales person press me very hard about buing the car right now and he offered very hight price. All was OK untill my question: "Can you give me the invoce"? He said: "I can not give you the invoice", t right now and he offered very hight price. All was OK untill my question: "Can you give me the invoce"? He said: "I can not give you the invoice", then turned around and tried to go away. I asked him about his manager. He brought me to his manager. Manager said that he can get me the invoice but the price is final and I am wasting my time. If you wanted to be high pressed and did not know the real price of the car, you can go to this dillership. I strongly recomend to find another place. More
On Dec 2008, I went to Fremont Toyota dealer to purchase a certified used car and this turned out to be a nightmare, I've been to Mercedes dealers many times and never experienced such problems. This report a certified used car and this turned out to be a nightmare, I've been to Mercedes dealers many times and never experienced such problems. This report is for consumers to be AWAY from Fremont Toyota (located at 5851 Cushing Parkway, Fremont, CA 94538) as you could loose your life if you purchased the car there. A . Fraudulent representation on 160 point assurance certified used car: Vehicle does NOT pass 160-Point Quality Assurance Inspection I purchased a certified used Toyota car on 12/22/2008(with mileage about 32500) The certified car should pass 160-Point Quality Assurance Inspection Between on 12/22/2009 and 1/1/2009 ( 1 and 6 days after the purchase), I find the following problems on the car, these problems indicate that the car HAS NOT gone through the complete 160-Point Quality Assurance Inspection at all and could cause life threatening problems while driving. 1. Front and rear tire valve are both leaking and missing valve sensor. The rear right tire valve was leaking on 12/23/2008 and the ABC brake sensor was on so I drove the car to the service department on 12/24/2008. They claim they fixed the problem and also checked all the other tires and make sure they are working. 2. On 1/1/2009, the front right tire was leaking again and the ABC brake sensor was NOT on (I have the mechanic report to prove that). This caused disaster on 1/1/2009 trip. The complete front tile flatted because of valve leaking and no indicator of the leaking. I was on high way 5 to Las Vegas (at 80 miles/hour), and a person found our flat tire when we were at break at Lost Hill.(fortunately we exit highway 5 for a break) At the time, the front right tire was completely flat and we did not know how and where we can repair the tire. We called the Toyota towing service and the car was towed to the nearby tire repair shop. The complete repair report was enclosed with this letter. This disaster cause panic and tremendous delay on my trip. If the tire was not found out to be flat in time, we could lose all of our life! Please be aware the potential damage it could cause due to dealer's fraudulent sale! Thereafter on the trip, we have to stop for every 100 miles to check whether there is any other leaks or safety problems. 3. ABC brake system tire pressure indicator does not work. This is why there is no tire leaking indicator on 1/1/2009. 4. CD system not working at all. Radio has sizzling noise when driving speed is more than 20 miles/hour , basically you can not hear radio when driving. 5. Driver pillar is breaking. Indicating frame has been damaged. 6. Driver bottom seat plastic is breaking. Indicating frame has been damaged. --- this indicates that the vehicle could have some hidden history such as prior accident. The broken interior is not normal to a 30K mile car. I have never seen such things in my 10+ years driving history. 7. When the van is on, you can hear wired van noise. 8. Second key remote control does not work. Can not lock/ unlock the car. 9. Windows shelf internal crack, not caused by external break, but caused by frame pressure. 10. Please note that you failed to disclose to me that you get commission from the Phantom Foot sale of $249. This failure to declaration is against the law and subject to $1000 additional penalty. 11. On Jan 1st, I paid $125 towing fee due the complete flat tire, Cross Country Motor plus only reimburse me $100 , saying there is $100 cap on road side server, this $100 cap is NOT mentioned in the contract. The contract says 100% re reimbursement of the road side service. Here the dealership break the contract again. B. Fraudulent representation on warranty plan: I was told by sales manager Jose Aguilar and Rebecca Chung that 7-year/100,000-mile Limited Power train Warranty starts from the date of my purchase where in fact it starts from original date of first use when purchased as new- that is 3/11/2005 C. Management expulsion of the sales and finance team: On Jan 3rd 2009 , when I was back from the trip and called the sales and finance manager who sold me the car, both of them were said already fired by the dealer. This expulsion of the fraudulent sales and finance team indicated the dealership could have many more fraudulent cases like this, and their expulsion of the employee is one way to get way witness in the court trial.
