All the associates were friendly and very helpful. They gave us sound advice and their expertise did shine through. They were not overbearing in "making the sale." After our test drive, we agreed that we gave us sound advice and their expertise did shine through. They were not overbearing in "making the sale." After our test drive, we agreed that we wanted the Lacrosse, and they did everything possible to find just the right financing for us. This took time, but they were not in a hurry nor did they rush us; it was our decision. We are very satisfied with the "0" financing and payments per month. We would definitely buy again from DUKE Automotive. David and Judy Liles More
Over the course of my life, I have bought at least six vehicles from Duke...All from Jerry Butler. Not only is Jerry a true gentleman in every sense of the word, but I feel I can call him a friend. He i vehicles from Duke...All from Jerry Butler. Not only is Jerry a true gentleman in every sense of the word, but I feel I can call him a friend. He is honest, and shoots straight. He never tries to sell you something you don't want, or make you feel anything but exceptionally comfortable. I like Duke, because there are no "lot lizards", no pressure and complete honesty. There's no haggling, no checking with the manager and everything is done in a very timely manner. This is an extremely professional organization and I'm a customer for life. More
This made my fourth vehicle purchased from Duke. I use this dealer because I am treated like a member of the family with absolutely no pressure to purchase, only to make suggestions that ultimately save m this dealer because I am treated like a member of the family with absolutely no pressure to purchase, only to make suggestions that ultimately save me money. I arrived at the Dealership in the morning on my way to work and presented them with what I was looking for, which took less than 5 minutes. When I returned that afternoon they informed me that they had located a vehicle that appeared to be what I was looking for within the price range that I was willing to spend. I asked when they could have the car there and I was informed it might be as early as the next day. I left the dealership feeling like I had just been to an old friends house and they were going to helping me out. They did have the vehicle for me the following day and it was actually everything that I wanted. Now I could have saved some money by going to another dealer, but I feel my time and sanity is more valuable to me than what money I might have saved. How many times can you say that the entire Car Shopping experience took less than 3 hours. (Most of which time was my fault because I do love to chat with old friends) More
Stan Bell was great to work with. My husband bought his new Chevy truck through him and then we returned to get a family GMC Yukon. Stan is friendly, honest, and wonderful at covering all the bases. On Monday evening July 8th I had a minor accident with my Cadillac SRX which resulted in a right flat tire and bent rim. I utilized onstar and received courteous and professional assistance from Cadillac Ro Cadillac SRX which resulted in a right flat tire and bent rim. I utilized onstar and received courteous and professional assistance from Cadillac Roadside Service. My vehicle was taken by tow service to Duke Automotive. My husband Jim went to to the dealership Tuesday am and talked with Rick in service regarding the car damage. It was determined that the right tire and rim would need to be replaced and would not be available until Friday am. Jim talked with Jerry Butler and he arranged for me to pick up a loaner car. I was greeted by Lydia and Jerry. Both listened as I share my story regarding the minor accident. Jerry insisted that I should have called him on Monday night so that he could have met me at the dealership and given me a loaner car. Lydia walked out with me to the car and made sure I had no questions before my departure. I have bought cars from Duke AUtomotive for over 30 years with salesman Jerry Butler. Jerry has always treated me like family and provided me with his contact #s including his cell #. Lydia & Jerry thanks for listening and your genuine care and concern. Christy Lynch More
Took car in for oil change, transfer case flush and fluid change and to fix inop horn. Explained that the horn problem was in steering wheel. Service Manager contacted me late the next day and explained tha change and to fix inop horn. Explained that the horn problem was in steering wheel. Service Manager contacted me late the next day and explained that the technician was talking with the parts department and they were trying to locate a horn and that they would need to keep the vehicle another day. Informed the Service Manager that a new horn was installed 4 months prior and again explained that the problem was in the steering wheel and they needed to check the contacts. Either they never looked at the horn or didn't test it, either way they were going to replace a perfectly good part and charge me for it. When I picked up the Blazer, it was left in reverse when they parked it. Also they didn't bother to wipe off the oil pan or transfer case and the vehicle dripped oil when I parked it in my driveway. Saw a used Chevy truck advertised in Autotrader and on the Duke website. Went to look at it on a Saturday and after some thought went back the following Monday. Talked to Al and had a vehicle appraised the Duke website. Went to look at it on a Saturday and after some thought went back the following Monday. Talked to Al and had a vehicle appraised by Ricky who gave me the lowest offer on my vehicle than anyone else. Was told that I could not take the vehicle for test drive until it went through the shop. Offered to buy the truck as-is or if they wanted to fix some of the issues that'd be fine, I was interested either way. Made an offer but was told that they would not make a deal until they ran it through the shop. Had a vehicle serviced on Tuesday and saw that the truck was in the shop up on a lift. Called Wednesday morning to let them know it'd be a straight up deal as I sold the vehicle I was considering trading in. Received a phone call from Al telling me someone had bought it the previous day. When questioned why someone else was able to buy it when I was had an offer on it, Al told me the person bought it "as-is". I reminded Al that I offered to buy it as-is. He apologized but that is no way to treat a customer. I thought we had a deal pending, there was no misunderstanding on my part. It's always possible that we might not have made a deal but I was at the table first. Under handed way to run a business. I'm a GM guy as there were 5 GM products in my driveway when I was looking to make this deal, now there's a Dodge truck in my driveway. Duke didn't just lose a used car sale, they lost that service business on that vehicle going forward and they also lost my business going forward. More
Regarding my Sales Consultant; Steve Fowler. During my initial walk-around on the DUKE parking lot he was very knowledgeable of the 2500HD Trucks and EXTREMELY approachable and professional. I'm 52 yrs initial walk-around on the DUKE parking lot he was very knowledgeable of the 2500HD Trucks and EXTREMELY approachable and professional. I'm 52 yrs old and he is the type of sales person that "I" feel comfortable with - NOT pushy, anxious, or annoying in any way. I had already been to seven other dealers (Dodge, Chevy, and Ford) in the Hampton Roads region. I liked the GMC Sierra Diesel and told Steve F. what my budget bottom line was. He helped me to find what would ultimately be my choice to purchase - but I wanted to ensure I wasn't making any mistakes, so I left to review consumer reports and make any other final looks at other trucks. The next day I returned with my wife and he accommodated us for a test-drive of the truck - then answered another hours-worth of our questions and I told him I'm still looking at ALL other trucks in the region. He respected that and told me he'd be in-touch in a couple days. He called me 2-days later and gave me a price for the GMC Truck that I test drove (first time that's happened for me without a 2-hour brow beating from sales managers). I came back to Duke Chev. again after seeing easily over 100 other trucks through the other dealers and for the first time, I let my Trade-in be Estimated. Then Steve F. did what I have never experienced in my 11 previous new car purchases... he took my price request to Ely Duke and Bruce Blythe, and they BETTERED my request by $1,700. They could have easily held up their price to my quoted bottom line, but they actually (as a team) bettered my bottom line, AND THEN when I told them my financing would be 1.99%, through my Credit Union, they found a financier at an even better rate of 1.49%. Even if it weren't for the price, I give Team (Duke) A++ for friendliness, general courtesy, and respect to their "potential" client to shop the market - and return if they so decide. Steve Fowler possesses the Sales Consultant skill that I personally require to conduct business when spending over 50K. There are so many choices out there and I feel that I got the best truck through the best salesman on the best team. I walked away after signing feeling GREAT, and not mentally beaten-up as in so many new vehicle purchases before. Compelled to write this through complete satisfaction - Anthony D. Bower More
