Bad service but I did get free dent in my truck! After a month of trying to call Pam to resolve this and only getting her full voicemail, I decided to just leave a review. I have only had my truck in for service twice since owning it for 18 months. The second time was this past Dec when I took it in for an oil change and some other warranty work. So they did the oil change and also resolved the low coolant light which ended up requiring that the coolant tank to be replaced. My issue was with several other items that were handled poorly. First, I told them that I had changed the fuel filter myself and asked them if they could explain how I could reset the filter life and they said it HAD to be hooked up to their computer in order to reset it. I declined and after a quick search online found out that it's simple to reset and does not require to dealers computers to do it. Secondly I told them that I knew there was a known dealer fix for my backup camera to reduce the brightness at night. After the truck was there they updated me and told me that my truck didn't have the right RPO for the update to fix. I have a friend out of state that is a tech at another GM dealership, I gave him my VIN and he said that my truck was eligible for the update. Only after I presented this info to the dealer did they come back and tell me I was right and corrected the issue. Next, I told them that I was starting to experience what is known as the "Chevy shake" which is a huge problem with these trucks when driving at around 65 and above MPH. They drove the truck and said that no vibration was present. There are several bulletins addressing this and I was surprised that I just received a simple, "nothing was found", explanation. While driving the truck home, it did the exact same thing again. The other two issues weren't found until a couple of days after I had the truck back but I popped the hood to add DEF and noticed two things, one was the plastic radiator cover was all scratched up. This was the area where the coolant tank was replaced and you could tell where something had been set on top of the cover because the dust had been wiped of of that area. I also found a small dent near the top of the driver's side fender (too high for a door ding) and while this wasn't the same side as the coolant tank, the dent was not there when I took the truck in. After picking it up I drove it home and it sat there until the day I noticed the damage. Being a small business owner myself, I cannot explain how disappointed I am with the service department at Don Brown and that I would never treat my customers this way. And on top of the issues I listed above, to then not be able to reach someone to try and resolve the issues was even more disheartening. I have no problem removing my review if I can at least have these issues resolved. But as it stands right now, I cannot in good faith recommend Don Brown's service department. More
