I was very happy purchasing my CR-V from Renee Gordon. She was very straightforward and candid which was very much appreciated. Other dealers really tried to gouge me for the few CRV's with NAV and wouldn't negotiate - and they really jacked up the pricing and added on all of these BS extras. At DCH, although they didn't negotiate like I would have liked them to, they were straightforward with the pricing, made themselves competitive and didn't take advantage of the fact these cars are hard to get by adding on all these ridiculous extras. As for people complaining about waiting - buying a car isn't like buying a bike at walmart - it takes time - EVERYONE MAKES YOU WAIT - IT'S A SLOW PROCESS. At least here they have good coffee while you're waiting! And do yourself a favor and go prepared by getting a price report from consumer reports - lay down your pricing information and be straightforward with them (don't hide the ball) and they'll reciprocate and you'll get a "fair" deal. I had other dealers get angry when I talk about consumer reports or "costco" pricing especially on this car because they'll say "it's hot". Also, don't fall for all of the nonsense extra's - if you make it clear you don't want them, they won't push them - aka "glass etching". Also, the finance people were very helpful and friendly - again - you've got to be prepared with a pre-approval from your credit union or other bank - it amazes me that people don't do any preparation and then they get angry that they didn't get the "best" deal. PS - I gave pricing only a "4" because I'm cheap and I'll always say I paid too much! More

OK so I wanted to look at buying a newer model Honda Element. I went it to see them, after submitting an email request. I got several calls in 3 days from all kinds of people. Finally went in to see the, and test drove the Element. Got a high pressure pitch. My trade in needed some work on the transmission. They would not give me anything close to the trade in value (I mean like 30% is hat they offered even though all they would do was wholesale the car to Bayonne). I decided to think about the Element but left a deposit since they had a great finance deal going for 0.9%. I thought it over and did some more numbers when I got home and decided instead I wanted my deposit back. They said it would be no problem and would take 7 days. It has taken them so far over 2 weeks to refund the deposit, I STILL have yet to see it - and I have talked to Sales, the Finance people, and left messages and emails for them. NOTHING. So today I am calling them again and talking to them about a letter from my lawyer to see what the holdup is. The fact that I would have still bought an Element from them, just not right then, seems to have been no incentive for them. This is ridiculous, and on top of it they are very disorganized. More
I recently purchased (01/19/08) an Odyssey EX-L Res model from DCH Paramus Honda. I dealt with Sung Kim and I thought his sales approach and honesty was refreshing. I got a good deal and they were able to lock in a better finance rate (after checking my credit) than what was offered through Honda Finance. The manager was helpful as well. The only unpleasant blemish was that I had gone a week earlier to negotiate on a car and didn't appreciate the sales tactic (didn't deal with Sung then). The guy basically asked, "What are you willing to pay for the Odyssey?" Gee, I wanted to say, "Is it free?" It was the old sales tactic of negotiating up/down before a final price is settled upon. My thought is that its common practice at DCH b/c he had to confer with his manager periodically. I left that day with a bad taste, thinking I was taken advantage of. When I went back the following week, I avoided the same salesperson and Sung basically told me, "I can go as low as this." The price was within the range I expected to pay. I bought the car on the spot. More

I leased a brand new 2008 Honda C-RV from DCH Paramus Honda on Saturday, 1/5/08. I had priced out some lease quotes through various Honda dealerships in the area when I went to Paramus on Friday night. D Honda on Saturday, 1/5/08. DCH Paramus Honda was able to beat a previous lease quote from D&C Honda of Tenafly, for a shorter lease term (36 months instead of 42). The sales manager at Paramus even came out to speak with me. He said that they could give me a better deal (for a 29 month lease term) through another bank/finance company. I decided to stick with Honda Financing. The car that I was interested in (C-RV EX in Whistler Silver w/black fabric interior) had just been delivered earlier that day. Once the vehicle had been inspected, I picked up the car the next day. Larry was accommodating. He made me feel comfortable and reassured about the deal that I was getting. Once I received my car, he sat in it with me and explained and demonstrated how to use all of the features in the car. I had a question later in the day and Larry returned my call promptly and answered my question. I am very satisfied with my experience at DCH Paramus Honda (salespeople, transaction, price, automobile). I know that I received a fair deal, for a great car. More
