Absolutely terrible experience with Darcars Volvo. Almost turned me away from the Volvo brand, but I came around only because Darcars local competitors saved the day for Volvo. Reached out to Darca Almost turned me away from the Volvo brand, but I came around only because Darcars local competitors saved the day for Volvo. Reached out to Darcars via email asking for a lease on C40 Recharge. One of their sales rep, Paula Mejia, responded to my query by the usual "we have the vehicle available if you want to come by and test drive it" response. I reached back to her within an hour informing her that I am currently test driving different vehicles and can come by over the weekend to test drive the Volvo. Today is the tenth day of my response, and I am still waiting for Paula's response. Anyway, since I was free over the weekend, I drove over to Darcars to test drive the vehicle. There was an Plug-in Hybrid version of XC40 inside the showroom, so I started looking at it. Sat inside, walked around it. There was another sales person, Yulia Denika, walking around, not even making an eye contact. There were some other sales/financing people at the dealership, but they were all in their glass rooms. No one was paying attention to me. After Yulia passed by me third time, I made an eye contact with her and she goes "Need help?!", "nope, just came to see you walk pass me a dozen times" I said to myself. Anyway, I told her what I am looking for, she pointed to a vehicle outside and said "its out there". What kind of dealership is this?! I ignored the snobby attitude, and was like "can I test drive it?". Got in to the car, she was extremely robotic and monotonic, like she was either forced to work there, or were forced to be my sales person. Once the test drive was over, I told her that I will get in touch with her to go over the numbers. The next day, I sent her an email asking what the lease number are, she goes "I've discussed with my manager and he's presented the best offer we can provide for the C40 Ultimate. The monthly payments are $xxx.xx". No break down, no details, just a number and "We require $1000 deposit to require the vehicle" Basically, "we dont care about you, all we care about is money." I had to ask Yulia for break-down of the cost, and then she comes around and email them to me. Numbers were still quite high though. So, I told her that I will think about it, and started looking at other dealerships in the area. There was one more dealership in Bethesda (I will be leaving them a review in a bit. They definitely earned it), so I reached out to them. Right off the bat, they were super responsive and were crystal clear with their numbers. Their manager sent me the numbers, with detailed breakdowns, without even me asking them. I emailed Yulia back and told her that I am not interested anymore, since I got a much better price from their competitors, she responds with "As the leading dealership in the region, we're well-positioned to offer competitive pricing. If you could share the quote you've received, I'd be happy to discuss it with my manager and see what we can do for you." I sent her the quote I got from the competitors and told her that I will lease from Darcars if they can beat the competitor's offer, its been 5 days today, and I have yet to hear back from her. Not even "Sorry we cant match them" or any such formality either. So, to sum it up, Darcars Volvo's customer service is sub par, at best. They lack courtesy but there seems to be no shortage of attitude. May be their management need to have a little chat with their sales people, because Lexus dealership is right next door to them, and Telsa and BMW are not too far either. If they continue the same trend, Darcars Volvo's dealership will start seeing less and less customers. --- This same review is posted on multiple forums and review sites --- More
In sales, Manny is the best, as the assistant to Alex Pedram. In Service, Jimmy is amazing! Very caring, thorough and honest, a rare encounter in the world of auto service shops. This is the way the car business should be done. I recently purchased a Volvo XC60 T8 Polestar from Darcars Volvo. It was the smoothest car buying experience I have ever had. Manny Rodriguez is cour I recently purchased a Volvo XC60 T8 Polestar from Darcars Volvo. It was the smoothest car buying experience I have ever had. Manny Rodriguez is courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He answered every question in advance of my visit and spearheaded the installation of the accessories I asked to have added before pick up. He even sent the car back to detailing when I came to pick it up because a couple of spots were missed and not up to his standard. Daniel Kwaw was a dream to deal with while finalizing the numbers for the deal. I wish every sales manager approached getting deals done his way, Mark Filipovic from the finance team also was great. He were able to beat my own bank's discounted financing rate for a loan and getting through the paperwork was a breeze. Thanks guys! Stop going through the painful way of buying cars and just get one (or 2) at Darcars! More

Just purchased a certified pre owned vehicle from here and it has been hands down the worst car buying experience I’ve ever gone through. Buckle up. Where to begin? My initial experience was with how t and it has been hands down the worst car buying experience I’ve ever gone through. Buckle up. Where to begin? My initial experience was with how they advertise all of their vehicles at all of their locations so you actually don’t know where the vehicle is at. I originally went into their Toyota used department where the vehicle I initially was interested in was located. It was not the vehicle for me so I asked to see the Certified Pre Owned S60. I was notified it was at their Volvo location but to stay here that they can do the entire transaction through them instead. Three hours later this was not the case they told me if I wanted to continue through Toyota that I would lose CPO certification and they wouldn’t lower the price. I had to then leave and come back the next day because they needed to start all over with Volvo. They hide misleading agreements in forms and tell you that you must sign it. The form was for running your credit but at the bottom in small print it also says along the lines of “you give us permission to contact you via any means possible whenever we please” when I called them out on it their used manager just kept bumbling the same canned response. “Those are the rules” Then after purchase I found the alignment was way off, the front rotors pulsed horribly at Highway speeds and a vibration. I then brought it back the same week and upon arrival the service lane “manager” decided to argue that the car was JUST ALIGNED and that I would need to go to sales to ask them to pay for the alignment. I then had to embarrassingly walk over to sales and ask them to cover it. Low and behold the alignment was off even though I was sternly told it was just aligned while given a deep sigh and eye roll. After the alignment and rotor replacement I could definitely now feel a massive vibration (there is no way they verify work there because they would have noticed it) Mind you I have had this car for a week and because of the brakes pulsing it was covering up all the other issues the brakes were supposed to be a quick fix not lead to 10 other issues. I took the vehicle to a different dealership and was told that the front right rim was bent and the tires were so choppy that they would eventually start causing issues. Even having to get Volvo America involved because Darcars couldn’t do the right thing. The only thing that they would cover was the rim replacement. And I quote “the tires are within spec so we will not be replacing them” so you sell a Certified pre owned like this? You should be terrified to buy anything from these disrespectful scammers. I even received a random phone call from the Volvo Sales Manager and was told that I should be grateful they didn’t sell the car to someone else and I should also be grateful they just had to put $2000 tires on the car I traded to them that he said “we didn’t realize they were that much” implying they would have lowered my trade. They didn’t even want to price match the Polestar Optimization. The Service Lane “manager” stated “we don’t price match these are the prices because of the area” it’s Rockville guys not Los Angeles. I got a way better deal at Younger Volvo for the upgrade so hit them up they actually care. To finalize I even called the GM today to try and see if they could make things right because on my new to me CERTIFIED PRE OWNED needed $1000 in new tires. Which Volvo advertises CPO as… “Volvo cars are certified for every moment. When you purchase a Certified by Volvo vehicle, you’ll have the same confidence and pride in your vehicles as you would a brand-new one. You will have peace of mind as you move through every milepost of life. After back and forth with the GM I was told by him “well sir I’m glad you don’t live in this area because we will never have to deal with you” First time not buying American….. well done. Avoid this dealership like the plague. Shady practices, hidden fees and agreements. I have purchased 16 new vehicles and 6 used. This was THE Worst experience. More
