Car purchase issue old and new Before I get into it, our family has dealt with John, Greg and Freedom Honda before so we’re technically repeat customers. So I met up with John and Greg and tried to get a older car from Freedom Honda. Took delivery and took the car home that night. Couple of days later, the dealer called me notifying that banks won’t finance it due to the age of the vehicle. Wife and I brought the car back and proceeded to get our down payment back until we sat down with John and Greg again. They tried to get us a different vehicle but due to limited supply, couldn’t fulfill the request. They proceeded to talk us into leasing a vehicle and showed us around. I was very hesitant at first because I never leased a car before and Greg and John both provided us with valuable information on purchase vs leasing due to having a strict budget on what we want to get. After weighing the pros and cons on buying vs leasing and car maintenance on a old car vs new, we decided to give leasing a try. At first they showed us a 2018 Honda Civic 2 door coupe and I wasn’t too fond of it due to having a family. We decided to try and get our deposit back and try elsewhere but before we did that, we were shown a 2018 Honda Civic 4 door hatchback and quickly fell for it, took it for a test drive and to my surprise, it drove really well. I’m really not into Civics however this one changed my thoughts about them. Now the last deciding factor was insurance which was only $60 more than what we are paying right now per month. Discussed it with the wife and we both decided to go ahead with the process. Process was fast and painless due to having chosen the vehicle that we test drove ( 6 speed manual black on Black Honda Civic). We were in and out of finance within 30 mins and now the proud owners of a brand new 2018 Honda Civic Sport. More
