I brought my car in for transmission work that took multiple iterations to fix for a warrantee job on a new transmission bought from columbia ford on 12/09/2025 but installed in a private transmission multiple iterations to fix for a warrantee job on a new transmission bought from columbia ford on 12/09/2025 but installed in a private transmission shop. It was brought to columbia ford on 1/19/2026 because the new transmission was under a warrantee. The communication on progress was very poor from columbia ford, and it took 3 iterations of service with multiple loaners in between. My vehicle was returned to me on 5/29/2026 which in total was 5 months and 20 days. To get a progress update, me or my wife would have to call, and the progress was never known immediately, I would need a call back which usually resulted in, 'the tech has not looked at it yet'. I understand backlogs and short staffing but if the communication were better, it wouldn't have been a very stressful experience as it was. Renewal of the loaners every week or two weeks without a progress update was stessful because we needed to empty out the vehicle and fuel it up before the renewal not knowing if we would be getting back my vehicle that day. More
