I am very disappointed with the ethical practices of Bomin Chevrolet. Mr. Jorge Fong, the salesman for Bomin Chevrolet, and I agreed on a “walk out the door price” with a 48 month and zero interest for Bomin Chevrolet. Mr. Jorge Fong, the salesman for Bomin Chevrolet, and I agreed on a “walk out the door price” with a 48 month and zero interest for a new 2022 Chevy Silverado. After a substantial deposit and credit review process, his finance partner told me that I was not eligible for 0% interest because I had an A-minus credit score and only an A-plus credit score qualified for the promotion. I then replied, asking him about the difference between an A-minus and an A+ credit. He responded that an A+ credit score is 800 or higher, which was an absolutely ridiculous excuse because only about 1 in 6 American consumers has a credit score of 800 or higher. A credit score in the mid-700s is considered good enough for lenders' best rates and terms. I told Mr. Fong and his finance partner I wanted to terminate the deal. After some deliberation, “miraculously” I was eligible for the 0% interest rate I had initially requested. We then proceeded to the finance office to finalize the paperwork for the purchase, and as I was reviewing the final contract, the total amount had increased by $ 5,200.00. The finance member called Mr. Fong to the office to figure out the discrepancy in the figures. Mr. Fong replied, saying he made a mistake in the final numbers, and apologized for the miscommunication on his end. It is mind-boggling that a car dealer as big and reputable as Bomin Chevrolet could make such a mistake and not even honor the final negotiations. In summary, a hard inquiry was done on my credit score,I spent three hours at the dealer and walked away without a vehicle. More
