Warranty SCAM I got a good deal on the car, the sales staff was fine but after negations on price was done and we were addressing the paperwork I was told that I ha I got a good deal on the car, the sales staff was fine but after negations on price was done and we were addressing the paperwork I was told that I had to purchase their 'Theft Code' theft deterrent system for $299!!! The sales manager, Mitch Allen flat out told me that he wouldn't sell me the car without it. This 'Theft Code' harkens back to the days of dealers trying to scam consumers with crap like undercoating and paint protection systems (basically a $400 wax job!). This, I can't really call it an insurance policy because the states will not allow them to do that, basically gives you $2500 is the car is stolen with in 3 years. The problem is that A) You need to already have theft insurance on your car, B) You have to show them a copy of the insurance company settlement check within 30 days of the theft... pretty unlikely to happen. This 'warranty' requires stickers with an identification number put in the door sills and under the hood and trunk. They didn't even put the stickers on my car!!! If you can get a good deal from another dealer please do so and make a statement that we consumers will not put up with crap like this. If you need to deal with these creeps, try not to get bullied into paying for this ridiculous product. More

However, the service I received at Bob Penkhus this time was exceptional. I think like every company, the company strives for the best customer service experience, but sometimes their employees don't live up to the company's brand. It is up to us the customers to make sure the company knows which associates are living up to its brand and who is not. I was helped by Tamas Varga. He was attentive, listened to my concerns and needs. He never pressured me and worked honestly to find me a vehicle that met my needs and the price I could afford.
