**1-Star Review** In January 2026, I brought my 2022 BMW Alpina B7 to BMW of Gwinnett Place because it was jerking and shuddering when accelerating from a stop. My service advisor was Joe Martin. Aft BMW Alpina B7 to BMW of Gwinnett Place because it was jerking and shuddering when accelerating from a stop. My service advisor was Joe Martin. After evaluating the vehicle, I was told the problem was caused by using the wrong octane fuel. I explained that I have exclusively used 93-octane premium gasoline since purchasing the vehicle, as required for the Alpina B7. Despite that, the diagnosis remained focused on fuel quality, and I left without confidence that the actual issue had been identified. I expressed my concerns to Joe Martin and hoped the diagnosis would be reconsidered or investigated further. Unfortunately, I did not feel my concerns were taken seriously, and no additional effort was made to determine another possible cause. I then took the vehicle to BMW of Macon for a second opinion. My advisor was Lindsey Segars. Their technicians correctly diagnosed the issue as requiring the BMW transfer case Oil Change ABL service. Once that service was performed, the jerking and shuddering were immediately eliminated. Had this been left unserviced it would have caused significant damage. The difference between the two dealerships was significant. BMW of Macon accurately diagnosed and repaired the problem on the first visit, while BMW of Gwinnett Place misdiagnosed it and attributed it to fuel despite being told the vehicle had only been run on 93-octane premium gasoline. When you bring a flagship BMW like an Alpina B7 to a BMW dealership, you expect an accurate diagnosis, careful attention to the information you provide, and a genuine effort to identify the root cause. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at BMW of Gwinnett Place. More
