Last month I bought my Chevy Bolt at Auction Direct. I didn't have many options since the Chevy dealerships have stopped selling these cars, but I was determined to buy an electric car that I could afford didn't have many options since the Chevy dealerships have stopped selling these cars, but I was determined to buy an electric car that I could afford. I'm grateful that Auction Direct had this car available to sell, but since taking possession of the car I've been very disappointed with the preparation and aftermarket support from this dealership. To make a long story short, this dealership failed to address several important maintenance tasks while charging me a $99.95 preparation fee, and after being called on it and promising me a refund I've still not received anything after an entire month. The first problem I noticed was that the car had less than 40 miles of range left on its battery. Charging insecurity is a known liability with EVs, but it would have been very easy for Auction Direct to put the car on a charger after I paid my deposit on Saturday so it would be fully charged when it came time to pick it up on Monday! The second problem I noticed was that the key fobs' batteries were low - another irritating oversight that would have been trivial to anticipate. Third, once I had registered with OnStar I discovered that all my tires' air pressure was low. When so much low-hanging fruit has been overlooked, I worry about what less obvious oversights have been neglected. When I contacted my salesrep, James Heath, he apologized for these mistakes. He told me their General Manager had agreed to refund me the preparation fee. However, after 4 weeks have passed I've still not received a check. I've been checking in with James frequently, who's always been ready to apologize and promise he'd look into whether the check had been sent. Frequently James has promised that he would be calling me back soon, but has never done so. Last week Saturday he responded that the check had been sent just the night before, but after another week has passed I've still received no refund. To review, while I've been very happy with this inexpensive electric car that Auction Direct has sold me, I'm completely unimpressed with their customer service. More
