CPO Buyer Beware – Misalignment Missed, Accountability Denied I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned Porsche GT4 from Porsche of Clifton Park expecting the vehicle to be mechanically sound, as promised by Porsche’s CPO program. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Within 600 miles of normal, careful driving, the rear tires wore down by 4mm. A Porsche Minneapolis inspection confirmed the car was significantly out of alignment—rear toe was over 5.6mm, far beyond spec, and a clear cause of the excessive wear. Porsche Clifton Park initially agreed to replace the tires after a disagreement about tread depth. At the time, neither they nor I knew the vehicle had a mechanical issue. But once the alignment issue was discovered and documented, they refused to take any further responsibility—falling back on a goodwill agreement that predated this finding. Worse, their CPO inspection did not include an alignment check, and they continue to insist that the vehicle met CPO standards even though it demonstrably did not. So while they honored their limited promise to replace tires, they ignored the real issue—and left me paying to fix a problem that should never have made it past certification. If you’re considering buying a CPO car from this dealership, get your own inspection before signing anything. And ask yourself: if something’s wrong after the sale, will they stand behind their product or just stand behind paperwork? I'm willing to update this review upon further resolution.
