Some Crossovers Are Better Once the Pavement Ends
Most of the week, you probably just need something comfortable for the commute.
But then Saturday comes around, the weather changes halfway toward the mountains, and the last mile to the trailhead looks a lot less like a road than you remembered.
That's where this 2027 Terrain AT4 starts making more sense than the typical small crossover. AWD, all-terrain tires, and a front skid plate give it some useful equipment for wet Northwest roads, snowy passes, and those gravel stretches that come with getting somewhere worth going.
The nice part is that you're not giving up everyday comfort to get it. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and a 15-inch touchscreen make it an easy place to spend the weekday commute.
And when conditions get messy, features like HD Surround Vision, adaptive cruise control, blind-zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and automatic emergency braking add useful support around the driver.
If you're comparing everyday AWD crossovers, the Terrain AT4 is for the person whose commute ends Friday afternoon and whose plans get a little more interesting from there.
