From across a parking lot the only thing this car gives away is the color of the calipers. Then somebody starts it.
Why We Acquired This Vehicle
Turbocharging gave the 488 everything except one thing, and everybody knew which one. Two turbochargers sit between the combustion and the air, and what they take is the top-end voice that defined the engines before them. The Spider is the version that argues back hardest - with the roof stowed there is nothing at all between the 3.9-liter V8 and the people in the car - and this one was ordered by somebody who understood precisely where that argument is won.
It is finished in Nero DS 1250 over Nero, which is the most restrained way a 488 can be ordered and, in person, among the most effective. Against black paint the carbon fiber reads as texture rather than contrast, so the depth of the specification arrives gradually instead of all at once. The verified appointments are detailed in full below.
What convinced us is how little of this build is decorative. The carbon is specified where it works as well as where it shows, the cabin was ordered for the person driving rather than for a photograph, and at 19,501 miles the car has been used as intended and looked after while being used.
