Overall, our experience purchasing a 2019 VW Jetta for our 16-year-old son was mostly positive, especially thanks to the sales representative. While the final paperwork and delivery took longer than we would have preferred, he consistently communicated with us and made sure we knew the status of the vehicle, which we appreciated. Where the experience fell short was in the post-sale detailing of the car. Unfortunately, the interior was not cleaned to an acceptable standard before delivery. It was still wet in places and had obvious debris, including crumbs and hair in the cup holders and even inside the heating vents. After our sales rep noticed our concerns and asked the detailing staff to clean the interior again, the response was disappointing. The detailer appeared more interested in finishing his can of Pringles than addressing the issue promptly, and his demeanor toward my 16-year-old son felt unnecessarily unprofessional and uncomfortable. After waiting roughly 30 minutes while he finished his lunch, we left to run errands and returned another 30 minutes later. Eventually, the vehicle was presented for delivery. At that point, I chose not to raise the issue further because I didn’t want to create additional tension. That said, attention to detail matters—especially during the final handoff of a vehicle. A cleaner, more professional delivery experience would have made a big difference. I appreciate the effort and professionalism of the sales team, but management may want to take a closer look at the quality and attitude of the detailing staff, as it detracted from what otherwise could have been an excellent buying experience. More
