Note: This review was taken down per request of Schaumburg Honda, in resolution for a bait-and-switch. Below is the original review, and now that more has come to light two months later, I would Schaumburg Honda, in resolution for a bait-and-switch. Below is the original review, and now that more has come to light two months later, I would like to share some information with fellow consumers in the market for a vehicle. This specifically pertains to a New vehicle, but the same scamming can happen to a used or certified pre-owned as well. If your car window side sticker states a dealer installed Xzilion, it is inaccurate, and the warranty is not honored. I went in to get a spot checked out on my paint, and Mike (Mykhaylo) Pastukh stated that I did not pay for the package. Truthfully I was never asked to purchase the package, or shown a line for dealer installed options. I instead was charged a Smart Driver as well as Smart Identity packages, to which was never agreed upon at time of sale. DO NOT ACCEPT THESE CHARGES! One is for replacement keys at a cost of $985 (I was told by finance it was a free service from Bob Rohrman and to simply sign to acknowledge that I understood the FREE package). The Smart Identity I was told was FREE and included with the purchase of the vehicle through Rohrman, at a cost of $349. Please as a caution, DOUBLE CHECK DOCUMENTS THAT SAY ACCEPT OR REJECT AGREEMENT! I reached out to their GM Matt Ashford at least 4 times previously, no reply. Here is the original review, I previously rated this dealership a 5-star rating, per request of my salesman, but now that I caught their discrepancy of my purchase, I have to lower my rating to the worst experience. I walked into this dealership asking to check out the 2021 New Honda HR-V’s available, and was helped promptly by Tyler Griffin. Keep in mind, Tyler is 4 days fresh into the gig, and hasn’t sold a single car until my purchase today. He checks out the stock of 2021 HR-V’s as we sit in his office, and then head outside to test drive the car. I cannot tell you exactly when the discrepancy happened, but this may have been the start to it. We go on a test drive and I enjoy the car a lot. While on the test drive, I asked about the current offer for $0 down, 0% APR for 60 months, because the 2021 models qualified. He said promptly “that offer expired”, so I thought nothing about it, taking his word for it. When going back inside, we start negotiations. They quoted me an out the door of $31k, and for a vehicle with a sticker price of $26.6k, I didn’t find that to be a respectful offer at all. Eventually getting them down to $27.5k out the door, I wanted that last $500 off to make the cost out the door $27k. I was told that they could not make the deal, so I kindly shook hands with the 2 sales floor gentlemen and walked out. I was stopped in the parking lot getting into my car by Tyler Griffin, my salesman, that they would make the deal for $27k out the door. Keep in mind, the negotiation was being set on a 2021 model, noted by the main sales associate when he said “I can’t go that low on a model I’ve only had on the lot for about a year”, the 2022 models are set to drop this summer/fall, so this proclamation signifies the year of the vehicle even more. After signing all the papers, I was promised by Tyler the ability to leave my new car on the lot until I could bring someone else to come pick up the car with me. Sales associates once again said that wasn’t true, and I would have to take the car off the lot and park it at Bob Rohrman University across the street so it wasn’t on the lot. Getting home, I realized a huge discrepancy, the model car I signed for was a 2020…I did not verbally agree to even checking out a 2020 model. I was set on a 2021 model, and negotiated with the model year of 2021 in mind. I called to have this situation rectified, and was told that they can do a 2021 for $1,500 more than the $27k, because of the “confusion”. I am assuming it was a large bate-and-switch tactic, because of the fact that 2020 was never mentioned at time of test drive, sale, or finance write up. I agreed to a purchase of a 2021 model, and ended up with a 2020. Trust was broken today Schaumburg Honda. More
