Originally from Rome, New York, Todd moved to Raleigh to attend NC State University. After spending a couple of years in real estate, Todd found his career home in 1988 when he joined the Leith Honda team. He has always enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many people that live in the Raleigh area and help them with their transportation needs. Todd grew up playing hockey and the sport allowed him to travel all over the Northeast and Canada. So it’s no surprise that Todd is a huge Carolina Hurricanes fan! Todd is also an avid outdoorsman who likes to hunt, fish, and also ride motorcycles.

Hello Ms. Cash, When you came in on March 13th, you indicated that you had a noise in your transmission and that your clutch was going to the floor. Upon diagnosing those complaints, we informed you that the clutch needed replacing and the bearings in your transmission should be replaced. At that time, Roy suggested that you think about the repairs, considering the age and mileage on your car. When you authorized the repairs, we proceeded with the work, as requested. Additionally, the $3000 repair that you mentioned also included new tires, an alignment, and oil and filter change, and an AC filter. When you returned on May 13th, you indicated that you were having a problem getting the car to go into reverse. We had the Service Advisor, both Service Managers, and two Technicians drive the car and all were unable to duplicate the problem. Without duplicating the problem, there is no way to know how to repair the problem. Intermittent problems are often the most frustrating, so we certainly understand your displeasure. Your satisfaction is very important to us and we will always do our very best to address your concerns and resolve your issues.

First off, when I came in, I did not mention a noise in my transmission. I asked if my clutch needed to be replaced and that I was having intermittent problems getting my car to go into reverse. Secondly, Roy NEVER EVER asked me to think about the repairs considering the age and mileage of my car. This is a story that started to be told once I came in a second time to advise that the problem was NOT fixed, I was still having intermittent problems getting the car to go into reverse and now in addition to that, since you all replaced the clutch, I have a NEW problem, with intermittent power loss on shifting. I was VERY specific in explaining the problem going into reverse and very pointedly asked Roy if replacing the clutch would fix that issue. He assured me it would. Thirdly, I was surprised after the car was evaluated to see if it needed a new clutch to be told it needed new bearings. They did not go into detail about exactly what that meant. "I" was the one who wanted to take some time to think through whether I wanted to spend another $3000 on the car since I had just spent approx. $2000 on struts, shocks, etc. After I spent a few moments thinking about it, I went in and asked the Tech who was to work on my car, with Roy and another technician standing there, would doing these repairs FIX my car or would I continue to have problems with it? Because if I spent that much money on the car and it wasn't fixed, I would be mad. The tech ASSURED me this would fix the problem. In my opinion, whatever was done, has now made the car worse. A problem that didn't exist before now exists and the original problem has not been fixed. Roy only came up with his additional story to cover his behind once I was unhappy with the results. I am disgusted that now you all have lied to me blatantly because had the truth been told, I wouldn't have spent additional money on the car and he knows that. I have lost complete respect for him, someone I "thought" was a nice guy, who has now lied (AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE TO ME!) to cover his own butt. This was my third Honda and when a company treats you with this level of disrespect and dishonesty, you never want to do business with them again unless they make it right. I continue to have problems with the car, including today in which it put me in a safety issue. I have now begun keeping notes of each time it happens. I am asking again, that you all reconsider your position on this, or at east reimburse me for the repairs that have been done ($5K) if I end up having to buy another car as a result of this. I understand the frustrating nature of intermittent problems, however, I would not be wasting my time nor yours if this was not happening. He did not change out the synchro which after speaking with several Honda dealerships, may solve at least the shifting problem. He promised me that the money I spent would fix the problem as did the actual technician who worked on my car. Now I fear, that whatever he has done, is causing a transmission problem and in looking online, it appears there are KNOWN transmission problems with the Accords and Civics. I feel like this was covered up just to get an additional $3000 in service income.
