H J Barkau & Sons is a dealership my wife and I have bought cars from in the past. But is has been awhile since we have done business with them. In the purchases we made in the previous decade or so we failed to check their inventory. But recently we were looking to find a car with better fuel economy. We had been through the area car lots not finding anything to our liking. Then I checked online and looked at their website. I was pleasantly surprised to see a great inventory on low mileage recent model cars available. I sent an email to inquiry about a specific Malibu and received an email back, almost immediately, from Tim Borders. We then talked on the phone and I stated what we were looking for and Tim was very helpful and not overbearing in trying to sell a car. We visited the Cedarville and Freeport car lots and eventually purchased a 2012 Buick Regal. Through the whole process Tim was very accommodating and knowledgeable as he answered every question. When we finally narrowed our choice to two vehicles again Tim helped us weigh the pros and cons of each vehicle. There was never any pressure to buy but just the philosophy of offering a fair trade in price, fair book price, and helping the customer as they determine what is best for them. It was a great experience working with Tim and H J Barkau & Sons. I highly recommend them and will consider them first for our next automotive needs. More

My wife and I were looking to trade in two vehicles for a one relatively new. I began searching local car dealer websites and found one on Barkau's site that looked promising. I sent an e-mail to the dealer and received a quick response from Tim Border. We set up a time to test drive the car. My wife and I received detailed information from Tim on the car's features. The new car had more features than our ten year old vehicles had and Tim explained how they worked. We were very satisfied with the vehicle after the test drive and made the purchase. We would like to thank Tim for making this car buying experience painless. We would certainly consider Barkau's in the future if the need arises. More

We were very impressed with Tim. He was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He answered all our questions and never made us feel pushed or pressured.
