As we discussed before you came in, your 2010 diesel Bluetec has an emission problem that cannot be remedied with a ‘reset’. It is a problem that needs to be repaired, unlike much earlier model years where a reset was possible. You argued with us that other technicians told you it could be reset, and that they told you they didn’t have the special equipment to facilitate this. We explained, just as the other Mercedes-Benz dealership did, that this was not true. You still wanted Crown to diagnose the problem, agreed to pay for the diagnosis, but then reneged on the payment. The reason this emission problem must be repaired is that it currently is releasing too much carbon - it is programmed per federal guidelines to only give a few more ‘starts’ until the repair is completed.
