Pre-sales service was great, but after the sale, it went downhill. We were promised a second key and three weeks later, still nothing. The parts department doesn’t answer or call back. Buyer Beware: I purchased a hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xE in December 2024. For 2024, new US government clean vehicle sales reporting made the DEALERSHIP RESPONSIBLE for reporting the sale of electric and hybri December 2024. For 2024, new US government clean vehicle sales reporting made the DEALERSHIP RESPONSIBLE for reporting the sale of electric and hybrid vehicles to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) so that I could receive the government clean vehicle credit of $3,750. This is the link for dealership responsibility per the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/clean-vehicle-credit-seller-or-dealer-requirements. IRS DEALERSHIP INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE IRS WEB LINK: Report 2024 and later information to the IRS For eligible clean vehicles placed in service on or after January 1, 2024, you must submit all reports through IRS Energy Credits Online within 3 calendar days of the date of sale. You must also provide the buyer with a copy of the accepted seller report submitted to IRS Energy Credits Online within 3 calendar days of the date of submission. As IRS Energy Credits Online provides real-time confirmation of a vehicle's eligibility using VINs provided by manufacturers, we strongly recommend this submission occurs prior to finalizing a sale and when the buyer places the vehicle in service. However, you may submit the seller report to IRS Energy Credits Online within 3 calendar days of the time of sale. Dealers can now submit corrected time of sale reports for transactions that occurred more than 3 calendar days from the date of sale. For these transactions, dealers should anticipate the time of sale report to be available after the IRS has completed a review and concurs with the attestations submitted with the sale. We encourage you to promptly submit any such time of sale reports, as they will generally take additional time to process. MY HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP EXPERIENCE: The “Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram” dealership was not aware and did not follow the above US IRS regulations, guidelines, and instructions and has not responded directly to any of my messages concerning this issue. When I electronically filed my 2024 tax return, it was rejected by the IRS because the clean vehicle credit on my tax return was cross-referenced by the IRS to the dealership required filing, and my VIN was not in the IRS system. I called the dealership business managers multiple times, leaving long messages about the issue, and I did not receive any response. I texted my salesperson all the details with screenshots and web links and was told the dealership was aware of the issue and they were working on it. After that update, I never received another response, even after I sent many additional text messages. The dealership never filed the sale of my hybrid vehicle, and I assume they didn’t file any clean vehicle sales through the IRS portal for all 2024 clean vehicle sales. I can’t imagine how many customers like myself are affected by this negligence. During the sales process, they said I would receive the clean vehicle credit when I filed my tax return, but they actually have no idea how the reporting process works and obviously don’t believe it’s their responsibility. In February 2025, I notified my salesperson about the IRS reporting requirements and was told this was not an issue and should just file my tax return like normal. During the sales process, the dealership and salesperson were helpful. But when I needed help, I received absolutely NOTHING. I can’t believe I may not receive the tax credit of $3,750 from the IRS because of this dealership. I now have to wait and work with the IRS using my time and resources to hopefully get the credit. I hope this review helps other potential electric or hybrid vehicle buyers. More
