I do have the print out that the service person gave me stating that the price was $411. I got the exact same piece on the Internet for $45. Not sure what you will find on your investigation part of it, but I do have proof that these were the prices.

John, We appreciate your review and apologize if the manufacturer’s requirements were not clearly explained. The vehicle manufacturer permits us to cut a replacement key for a vehicle if the client can provide a valid driver’s license that matches the name and address on either the vehicle registration or title. After providing the replacement key, we are required to keep the key code and a photocopy of the client’s information in a locked safe, which is subject to audit by the manufacturer to ensure compliance. Key codes are not allowed to be handed over the parts counter as you requested. Per the manufacturer policy, we offered to cut your key for you, but you declined. We can assure you that this was not poor customer service but merely ensuring we abide by the security requirements of Hyundai of America. If we can assist you further, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we do hope that you will allow us to earn your business in the future. I was able to purchase an additional key fob from a mobile locksmith for a fraction of the price you were going to charge me. I should have a right to have the key fob programmed where I choose. The fact you will not provide the car PIN number and key code keeps me from choosing where I want to have the work done. I will definitely keep investigating my rights as a consumer.
