They put a bearing in the wrong wheel and wanted to charge me to put it in the correct wheel. After I left 2 messages for the GM. A service manager called me back and said he would put the bearing in the correct wheel at no charge. The first service manager, Shawn, would not help me at all. approximately 6 weeks ago it was in for the same problem whit the wheel and a should when the truck started. After telling me they couldn't replicate the sound I offered to come in and show them. The advisor informed me that he would have the lead tech check it out. The advisor called me back to tell me it was the starter and they wanted to put a new starter in. After picking up the truck and driving it it was making the same exact sounds. This time I called the service manager, Shawn, who told me to bring it in. Once again I offered to drive the truck with the tech. They declined my offer. When the service advisor called and advised me that it needed a new bearing and a $6000 cam timing device, I found out that they had put the bearing in the wrong wheel and the new starter was obviously not the problem. I feel totally ripped off! I am going to pick up the truck and take it to a reputable service department for an independent evaluation of the service that was performed at Chapman Ford. When asked for a written estimate, it is not the $6000 that he quoted me, it is $7000! More
