Our engine died (due to a cam problem many wranglers are having) at under 30,000 miles. I have been in and out of the shop most of the summer (was without a car for 3 months+). The top half of the engine was replaced and garavels admission with out properly connecting the fuel injection. Our car smelled like gasoline and then the engine broke again as a result. I called and called to bring it back in with no response. I finally walked in and demanded an appointment to fix it. They only gave me one after my last post on their review board. I also purchased an extended warranty and paid extra for rental coverage. Now the engine is stalling and still smells like gasoline-I have left voice messages and texts since August. Today when I went in to request an appointment and was told if I want a rental it would likely be months (I’ve been trying to make an appointment since picking it up in mid August) but they would let me know what could be done about an appointment. A hour later I received this text message from the service manager in the picture-setting they would no longer work on my car, and have stopped responding since. I have also heard from the area rep that have not returned their calls requesting an appointment or rental permit my warranty. My car doesn’t even have 40,000 miles and I paid $70,000 after buying it new. Also-at the time of sale they told me it was so much more than a regular jeep because it’s a hybrid. But when I looked into trading it in the same sales rep that sold me the car and told me that said a hybrid and regular jeep are comparably priced. When I pointed out the discrepancy he said “well we are in the business of making $”. I have never had such an awful and increasingly hostile experience buying or fixing a car in my life. I would not recommend getting a bicycle there. They say they stand by their car owners-but as my 4th car there to be treated this way because they don’t want me in handle the lemon they sold me is bewildering and disappointing. More
