Ms. Flynn, On behalf of BMW of Springfield, I would like to apologize for the error regarding the estimate provided for the replacement of your windshield. The individual who first made the appointment for you incorrectly assumed that because you had your windshield replaced previously at another BMW dealership, that the pricing would automatically be the same. What he did not know, was that Flemington BMW uses a vendor to install windshields, whereas at our dealership, technicians perform these installations. That is the reason for the initial price difference. The price was then lowered because our team recognized our error, and the price was reduced significantly in order to atone for our mistake. I apologize for the confusion, and regret that the frustration caused will be a catalyst for change, but we have learned from this error and it will not be repeated. Ms. Flynn, I appreciate your response, and your honesty. The honest answer is that the individual who assisted you when you make your appointment made an error in judgement. When you mentioned to him that you had a windshield replaced at another dealer and the cost involved, he didn't verify that information, assumed the pricing was identical, and just agreed with the pricing. It was our fault, without question. I am truly sorry for the frustration we caused you. It seems that Flemington provided you with an excellent price on the glass, and also uses a vendor to install windshields, whereas our technicians perform windshield installations. When you mention a previous experience that also was less than satisfactory, that is exactly what our ownership group is trying to change. I, personally am responsible for making sure the culture we've created at our Lexus dealer is carried over to BMW of Springfield. We're working closely with the team we inherited, and want to be sure we've providing the best possible experience. To be perfectly honest, I was pleasantly surprised at JMK's Dealer Rater score, which you may have seen is exceptionally high. Obviously, this is of little consequence if each customer isn't treated properly. I respect your decision, and again, apologize for our errors. If, for any reason, you wish to consider all your options, our Lexus windshield installer, who I have known for 11 years, could offer a replacement windshield for $515, which is my cost. He is a brilliant installer and does excellent work. Obviously, I would have the bulb replaced complimentary as well. I would pick up and deliver the car, with a loaner left, and have the vehcile detailed inside and out to make up for the inconvenience. I appreciate your time, and I also thank you for your feedback. I understand you have a busy schedule and don't have time to spare. I sincerely want BMW of Springfield to continue to improve, and I am disappointed that had to happen and the expense of a positive experience for you. Brad - As stated in my review, I was quoted by your parts/service department the exact same price that I paid the last time my windshield was replaced by Flemington BMW. I was also quoted $24 for a bulb replacement. Once I dropped my car off and obtained the loaner vehicle, Paul left me a VM and quoted me a price double of the original price, and also inflated the price on the bulb to $24 PLUS $130 to install. I have had at least 10 BMW's through corporate in the past, as I also used to work for BMW. I have NEVER had this experience with any other dealership. And this is not the first time that I have had issues with your dealership. I already have an appointment scheduled at Flemington BMW to replace my windshield, as well as replace the bulb. They are also charging $20 for the parking light, and not charging me labor, since it is a 5 minute fix. Maybe your dealership could take some tips from them!! As I stated to Paul, I was also looking at trading my vehicle in soon, as I currently have over 70k miles on this one. I will be seeking another dealership for my future purchase.
