If the vehicle was truly inspected by a mechanic, there should have been much, much more disclosed about its condition including significant oil leaks, corrosion, and interior issues. I’ve begun work on all items, but I would have honestly asked for a price reduction if these were properly disclosed. If they were not noticed, I’d question that there was any proper mechanical inspection done by the dealership. Part of doing business with a dealer who advises that they do a thorough inspection is relative peace of mind that you don’t need to hire a mechanic to come inspect on your behalf. More
