The finance manager, Noah Hinson, clearly misrepresented the extended warranty pricing as well as what the warranty was. We specifically told him we did NOT want to pay $500+ per month/year for any service the extended warranty pricing as well as what the warranty was. We specifically told him we did NOT want to pay $500+ per month/year for any service contract/warranty. In response, he reassured us that it was a one-time fee, and that the total amount was only that figure displayed on the screen, around $500. He went on to tell us that this was a warranty that was backed/preferred by Honda and that they "Never deny claims." Based on that explanation, we agreed. After getting home, I reviewed the paperwork and researched the insurance provider, because the total amount financed didn’t make sense, especially after putting $6,500 down. That’s when I discovered a $3,600 service contract had been added to the loan, instead of charging us the $500+ every year, it turns out that it was that price each year for the 6 year warranty, they just charged the full amount up front and financed it with our car loan. Additionally, we discovered that the warranty was through Fidelity Warranty Services, a Florida based insurance company with horrible reviews and worse coverage. Many dealerships won't even honor that insurance policy, meaning we would have to transport the vehicle back to Fargo in order to get any use out of the policy! When we called to cancel the warranty, the experience got worse. We were pressured to keep it, and then told we would have to come in person to sign paperwork because cancellation could not be done otherwise. Noah then tried to make it out to seem like we were stupid as he "thought he had very clearly went through the numbers." However, we had specifically told him that we didn't want to pay $500+ on a recurring basis, so he misleading framed it as a one time fee of $500+, instead of the truth. If that wasn't bad enough, Noah lied about what it would take to cancel the warranty. The warranty provider allows cancellations online without visiting the dealership. Between the inaccurate vehicle listings, the unnecessary back-and-forth to correct those issues, and the misrepresentation of a $3,600 charge by their finance team, this experience significantly damaged my trust in the dealership. More
