I have been a loyal customer at Toyota on Western since 2023, when I bought my vehicle here. For three years, I have experienced nothing but professionalism and courtesy from the staff. That streak ended t 2023, when I bought my vehicle here. For three years, I have experienced nothing but professionalism and courtesy from the staff. That streak ended today in the worst way possible. If management wants to know exactly how to hemorrhage loyal customers and trash a reputation, look no further than Nicolas "Nick" Salazar. He is, without a doubt, the most incompetent and smug service advisor I have ever encountered. He ghosted the entire process, lied straight to my face about timelines, and treated me like I was an idiot who knows nothing about cars. To illustrate just how disrespectful this guy is of a customer’s time, here is the absolute circus of a timeline I dealt with: * 10:00 AM: Check-in & Vehicle Drop-off Dropped off my car. I was initially quoted a standard 90-minute turnaround time. * 11:30 AM: Inspection Complete The vehicle is finally inspected. Nick is completely missing in action. * 12:00 PM: Digital Report Received I receive the inspection report on my phone. Nick is still completely absent from his desk; the entire update has to be pushed through by a completely different employee. * 12:10 PM: Services Approved I promptly approve a standard brake oil change and basic brake maintenance. * 1:00 PM: The First Lie Nick finally materializes at his desk. When I ask for an update on my 90-minute appointment (now hitting the 3-hour mark), he looks me in the eye and tells me it's "almost done" and will be out "soon." * 2:00 PM: The Confrontation An hour *after* being told it was almost done, the car is finally ready. A total of 4 hours for a 90-minute service. --- When I rightfully pushed back and asked why a simple service took four hours, Nick didn't even attempt a basic customer service apology. Instead, he insulting my intelligence by claiming that because I added two standard maintenance items, it adds *exactly one hour per item*. Do I look like I have "stupid" written across my forehead? Brake fluid and basic maintenance do not take two additional hours on top of a late start. But his utter lack of professional ethics peaked when I told him that after this abysmal communication, I wouldn't be returning. > Instead of apologizing, Nick smirked, shrugged, and literally told me: "Freedom of choice." If Nick thinks customers have the "freedom of choice" to take their business elsewhere, I am happy to oblige him. I would have gladly adjusted my day if he had simply been transparent and kept me updated. Instead, he chose to hide, offer vague timelines, and cap it all off with staggering disrespect. Employees like Nicolas Salazar are a liability to your sales volume. I sincerely hope management steps in to teach this man the absolute basics of customer service, because he is actively driving your business away. More
