My experience at Beau Townsend Lincoln was very disappointing. After locating the exact car I had been searching for at this dealership, which is 3 1/2 hours from my home, I spoke with salesperson disappointing. After locating the exact car I had been searching for at this dealership, which is 3 1/2 hours from my home, I spoke with salesperson Mike Myers over the phone and made arrangements to purchase the vehicle. This purchase was a cash deal/no financing, therefore the arrangements we discussed over the phone prior to traveling to the dealership included acceptable method of payment. Upon arriving at the dealership, I never once felt like Myers was appreciative of my business and the distance I traveled to do business with Beau Townsend Lincoln. While finalizing the paperwork for the purchase, Myers indicated there was a little hiccup, and the dealership was unable to accept the method of payment he told me was acceptable when we spoke on the phone the prior day (less than 24 hours prior to my visit to the dealership), as there had been a change in their policy. This was frustrating, however, I wanted the vehicle and had invested an entire day of my time to travel to the dealership to purchase the car. Therefore, I asked for wire instructions, so that I could have the funds wired from my bank to the dealership. Myers then advised me that even if the funds were wired, there would be a 3-4 day wait for the wire to clear. Having been in banking/finance for more than 35 years, I knew this was not true. I then asked to speak to someone in management, and Myers shook his head ‘no’, indicating I could not speak to a manager. I was livid! After exiting the dealership, I decided to place a phone call to management, as I felt they should be aware of how I had been treated. General Manager Tom Brunswick told me that Myers had advised me incorrectly on acceptable payment methods. He said he contacted the owner of the dealership and was given the ok to accept my payment. I agreed to complete the purchase, but asked for any other salesperson to complete the transaction. Brunswick agreed to handle the deal himself, however, as the only ‘brand expert’, Myers would be the one to demo the cars’ features, which I agreed to. At the conclusion of his demo, Myers had the audacity to tell me that I would be asked to complete a review, 7-10 days after the sale, and if I were not able to leave him a 5 star review, to not leave any review at all!! Myers inadequacy continued, as approximately 4 days after I purchased my vehicle, he sent me a message indicating he was going to send me a couple Lincoln keychains in the mail. That was 3 weeks ago, and no sign of any keychains. My advice would be….find any other Lincoln dealership you can and avoid this ‘salesperson’ completely! More
