I purchased a Jeep from this dealer in February 2023. Pros: I was searching nationwide for weeks for a Jeep with several specific criteria. I was becoming quite familiar with the prices. This Jeep wa Pros: I was searching nationwide for weeks for a Jeep with several specific criteria. I was becoming quite familiar with the prices. This Jeep was such an excellent price it made sense to fly there and drive it back. I coordinated with a salesman, received a written quote, and flew from out of state. The salesman picked me up from the airport (DFW is about 35 minutes away). The test drive experience was nice, and the amenities of the dealership were nice. The Jeep has been a lot of fun to drive and I’ve put almost 4000 miles on it since without any mechanical issues. Cons: I was pre-approved by my bank for a loan with an excellent interest rate. The dealership said they would not hold the Jeep unless I agreed to finance through them. I was told they could match or beat the interest rate my bank gave me. In the hopes of getting a good deal and making the flight to Texas worth it, I agreed so they would hold the Jeep. During the paperwork process to purchase the Jeep, I found the written quote I received was not valid. The taxes were $500 more than the quote I was given. I asked them to drop the price by an appropriate amount, which was refused. The sales manager told me, “This is a known problem. The software we use to give quotes is not the same software we use to calculate the sales tax. We are working on this.” I then found the interest rate I had been told could be matched was actually more than 2% higher than what I had through my bank. At this point I considered walking away, but after calculating the cost of a flight back home and overnight hotel fees, I may have come out in a worse situation. As part of the test drive, I found there were no floor mats in this Jeep, and they agreed to provide floor mats as part of the deal. I was told by the salesman he would put the floor mats in while I completed the paperwork. After a frustrating purchasing experience, I got in my Jeep and drove away. I noticed there were floor mats in the front, but it wasn’t until the next day when I arrived home I realized they had not put in the rear floor mats. I contacted the salesman, and he said he would mail them out the next day. After 2 weeks passed, I tried to contact the salesman. He had previously been very quick about responding, but for 1 month he never returned calls or texts. Then I started calling the dealership to speak with him, and he was always unavailable. It wasn’t until I hid my number that he actually answered a call. He apologized and said he would go to the parts department and make sure they sent it out. Another week goes by, and he will now not answer any texts or hidden phone number calls. Calls to the dealer also cannot get through to him. I am given a manager’s number, and several calls and voicemails go unanswered. One day in frustration, I called repeatedly and told the call takers I would keep calling until I could speak to a manager. I finally reach a manager who is apologetic of the situation, and he immediately mailed the floor mats. He recommended for future purchases I insist the form that shows “what is owed” by the dealership include items like this. Overall impression: The practice of not honoring a written quote, not matching the interest rate, and having to harass the dealer for 2 months to receive floor mats really bring down the overall rating for this dealership. Without these issues, they could have easily scored a “5”. I cannot say it would be like this for in-state buyers, but out of state buyers be aware. More
