DJ - As it pertains to the behavior of our team member sharing a less-than-truthful account of your conversation with our Service Manager, you're correct that it is inexcusable. There is no cause for that and we will use your review as a coaching opportunity to get better. With that said, we had an internal discussion with multiple parties in our store, and I must say that much of your review leaves out necessary details where we did everything within our control. It is my understanding you purchased this vehicle from another dealer, and your vehicle's engine has been "tuned up" with new cams/rods/pistons. Moreover, that dealership sold you a warranty that did not cover the manipulated engine, so when your engine had an issue, it could not be covered by that warranty. After diagnosing the issue (and absorbing that cost), we proposed a new engine as we couldn't fix an altered engine for free. We allowed the warranty company to come in and confirm your engine's issue was not covered by the warranty that other dealer sold you. Again, we fully appreciate your decision to have someone else fix the issue, and we (reluctantly) absorbed the cost of all work performed. I'm not including any stories about how our team was treated less than courteous by you, because our team's behavior in response is not justified regardless how they were treated. However, I believe it was important enough to us to stand behind the work we were able to perform given a situation that was not the cause of our own store, but of the original dealership you purchased from. It isn't normal for us to reveal the true happenings in a response to a review, but given the aspects of your experience with us that were withheld, I feel it is only right to share both sides of the story. We did not do everything correct, by any means, and again, despite how Melanie may have felt she was being treated gives no excuse for her actions, but she did decide to absorb any cost you would have accrued otherwise. I'm extremely sorry this needed to be said, even more than I am this situation happened in the first place, but we are very happy you found a provider that was able to install a new engine for you at a price you were comfortable with. We hope you are happy with your vehicle for years to come.

I did confirm that our service team did indeed look at your vehicle to determine if it was something with an easy solution to fix, but unfortunately, it was the type of work that requires (what is known as an A Tech). They're the cream of the crop, and our A tech will not be back until Tuesday (since we're off Monday). Hopefully our team has been in contact with you since you've left this review, but I've been ensured that our team will work diligently to make you happy.

I know what an automobile tech is. I also know that car manufacturers today provide dealers simple to use dianostic tools that are easy to use and interpret. I find it hard to believe that any dealer today has only one person who can use dianostic equipment. The problem should have at least been diagnosed on Thursday.

I was able to receive a loaner on 4-20-22. They still have my truck so I don’t know if problem has been resolved. I will post when I get my truck back. The service department has always been great it’s the management and lack of loaners that have me frustrated.
