I was on a road trip to Scotts Bluff when I got an alert that something is wrong with my charge system to service now. I called the dealership in route and explained my situation they told me I could bring that something is wrong with my charge system to service now. I called the dealership in route and explained my situation they told me I could bring my truck in. I dropped it off around 11:30 AM on Wednesday and explained it was OK to keep it till Thursday, but I needed to have it fixed so that I could return back to South Dakota on Friday since I had to work on Saturday, they told me that would be no problem. I did receive a text message that Mario was my service advisor and if I had any questions I could text him. That was at 7:57 AM. I had asked if they had found anything out. He told me they had not, but would let me know as soon as they did. At 11:26 AM I texted back to see if they had heard anything. He stated they had not but would let me know as soon as they did. I did remind him that I needed to have my truck fixed so that I could leave the next morning he stated OK he would make that happen. At 2:42 PM I texted him to see if he had any news for me. I got a phone call at that point and it was stated that they had checked my battery and it was fine and charged it and they were driving my truck at that moment. I had asked him if they had tested the alternator or checked the belts. He stated to me that they had two other vehicles came in That were priority, so they didn’t know if they could get to my truck by the end of the day I again asked about my drive belt. He told me the drive belt was dry rotted so I asked him if they could please get that fixed and asked if they could please check the charge on the alternator. He told me even if it was the alternator They did not have one in stock. They would have to order it, and it would have to come from Denver, which would not be received until Friday morning. I asked him to please check the alternator so that they could order the part as I really needed to get back to South Dakota. He did tell me that I would probably be able to drive my truck Back to South Dakota and take it to the Ford dealership close to my home. I had to explain to him that by doing that I could sort out my electrical system or the belt could break. It was not safe. Please fix my truck so that I can get home. He told me they would try and get to it. I ended up having to call my boss and getting my Saturday shift covered as I did not think I was going to make it to work. He did call later that evening to tell me that the alternator was losing a charge and they had ordered the part and it would be there at 9:30 Friday morning. At 10:40 AM Friday morning I texted to see if the part had been received as I tried to call prior and got voicemail. at 10:53 I received a text stating my truck was ready. They were just waiting on paperwork. I let him know. I would be over in about 15 minutes when I arrived. He let me know that there were actually two dry rotted belts, but only one of them they were able to replace which I believe was the serpentine belt as well as replacing the alternator. Stated they could not get the other part and I would have to get that taken care of when I got home. Then they handed me the bill that was over $1400. Needless to say that was shocking as nobody ever gave me a quote. I know alternators run around $200 in the fact that I was charged $669 I thought was a little excessive. I also thought it was a bit excessive that I was charged $509 for labor when I know there was not that much time spent on my truck needless to say I’ve taken my truck to the Ford dealership since I have owned it in South Dakota and never had a problem. I feel there was unprofessionalism as well as not a lot of knowledge when I’m having to ask to have specific parts checked and then I’m told oh yeah it is dry rotted and also being told that I was OK to go ahead and drive my truck the four hours home to have it fixed there when it was not safe to do so I am the first one to praise. Service at Transwest in Scottsbluff is always good, but this time Mario took it to another level. There was a misunderstanding with my appointment time, so my truck was over an hour late getting in. Mario explained what happened and comped my service that day. I told him he didn't have to do that, and he insisted. That kind of customer service will definitely keep me coming back, and I will highly recommend Transwest to anyone! More
