They simply give you their bottom line price and you go from there. No mind games, struggles to negotiate, fear of mistrust, prolonged and exhausting back and forth, intimidation, or any of the rest of the agony of trying to get a fair price. Their salesman aren’t even paid on commission. What a relief! Neither my husband nor I are very aggressive negotiators, so for once we have been treated fairly and given a good price instead of being punished for not being fast talkers. At Subaru of Rochester, cars are discounted according to time on their lot and mileage. Who knows why car buying in the US is still in the dark ages with incomprehensible pricing formulas and exhausting negotiation, but this is one place where it has finally evolved. This dealership says their goal is to make car buying stress-free. A lofty goal, maybe not even possible, but kudos to them for trying! Luis Velez, the dealership representative who helped us, was fair and honest with us. He really represented their new system well and said more than once that his job was primarily to help us any way he could. Thanks Luis! More
