While under warranty I took my vehicle in twice to have my door problem assessed and fixed. Both times they told me they “couldn’t figure it out” and sent me home. The problem kept getting worse until this my door problem assessed and fixed. Both times they told me they “couldn’t figure it out” and sent me home. The problem kept getting worse until this past week when the same back door of my van came open while I was driving down the road- with my 5 year old sitting in the seat next to it. I immediately called Evans in a panic and they assured me they would figure out what was wrong. And guess what? They did. This is the third time I’d taken it in for the same problem. They then proceeded to tell me that my warranty that would’ve covered the repair was expired by 6 days and that “unfortunately” I’d owe $1,400 for the repair. Lenny, the Service Director, called me and stated they knew what was wrong this time because his mechanics ran the diagnostic test for the door, and he also ADMITTED that they had not run this test either of the two instances before when I’d taken it in for the problem. Instead of assuming the responsibility of the mechanics not running the proper tests as they should have, he blamed me as the customer. WHAT?! I have been a long-time customer of this place, and I’ve run into many great employees, but unfortunately this circumstance will never have me back in their door. I’m a lifetime Toyota owner and will always be, but I’ll drive as far as I need to find proper service and mechanics who actually know what they’re doing. Lenny went far above and beyond to fail his very justified upset customer. More

I have been a customer for 20 years plus las week I took my 2019 Toyota tundra crewmax with 20,000 miles for service they told me it was my tires bad I got new tires. And now I'm not allowed to be back in the dealership...thanks Rick Evans. Be aware they will tell you something is wrong with your car to get your money... More

I worked with Chad Voglewede, who was a true professional. He went over and above in every step of our new car purchase. We met so many people in the process- all were truly kind and helpful. Jason Campos made the financial transaction seemless. Jerry who did the pre-delivery inspection showed me many details on the car and was available on pick up for any other questions. I believe the detailer was John-he had this car truly shining like new money, it was absolutely spotless and beautiful. Lenny was kind enough to move the car around as I was uncomfortable backing it out for the 1st time. On pick up day, which was Chad's day off. He came in so we could pick up the car. He spent a lot of time with my husband and I to make sure we knew everything we needed to know. He has even been in touch to make sure everything is wonderful. He is truly top notch! We met Kathy as well who told us if we had any concerns or questions to feel free to get in touch with her as well. I would highly recommend Rick Evans and Evans Toyota to anyone in the market for a new car. You can tell he and his staff genuinely care about their customers. Great to have been able to experience their top notch dealership! More

I have known most of these guys in service just about my whole life. they have done some very extensive work for me over the years with zero problems. Dave is the one you want. Beware of Scott/Lenny. I’ve seen people come and go at Evan’s service department. Dave is the best. He is the one I trust to take care of all our Toyota’s. Some new younger I’ve seen people come and go at Evan’s service department. Dave is the best. He is the one I trust to take care of all our Toyota’s. Some new younger people seem nice too. Not a fan of Scott or Lenny. I don’t trust them. They will have their people test drive your vehicle without your knowledge. It is supposedly to check the vehicle which is understandable if there was a reported problem. Not for a newer vehicle with no problem brought in for regular service. Quite shocking to see your vehicle “flying” down the highway while coming back from breakfast. I suspect they are trying to find other things wrong to suggest more service. I used to work at a dealership myself so I know how it works. Most techs will drive your vehicles hard. Not a fan of this technique but I’m sure this helps some suggestions of additional work. Some may be needed. I gave Scott and Lenny two years to simply apologize for their actions/procedures that upset me. Just excuses and lies which is disappointing. Customer service has apologized but they are not the individuals who have offended. BTW, Fort Wayne Toyota does NOT take your vehicle out for a highway test for an oil change unless you reported a problem for them to check. I do think they have a very good service department and like the dealership overall. Just would like to see them require all their employees to act in a professional honest manner and ultimately put the customers first. I think Rick Evans knows and practices this. I’m just not sure Lenny and Scott do... That is why I highly recommend Dave! Jason is very helpful in parts. More
