Where do i even start… save yourself the hassle and go the extra 15 minutes to minooka. I was so excited to finally get myself a new car as a Christmas gift to myself, but they completely stole my excitem the extra 15 minutes to minooka. I was so excited to finally get myself a new car as a Christmas gift to myself, but they completely stole my excitement from me. The problems started as soon as i requested information online and received a phone call from a sales rep named jacqueline who did not know anything about the subarus or the availabilty of the cars, she only seemed interested in knowing how my credit is and how much money I was putting down. I asked her about the save more button and she basically changed the topic and now i realize it was just a trick to get my information to call me. This is when I should’ve ran, but instead, I regretfully scheduled an appointment with her to see if I could get a better deal as they stated the managers would definitely work with me on price, IF i came in and it is also the closest subaru to me. Upon my arrival, there was nowhere to park. And from here i had no idea it could get any worse. I come inside and say I have a VIP appointment as I was told and this is when I meet Cathy. They told me that they would have everything prepared for me upon my arrival however, she told me she had to find the keys and would get me a sales person. Now I’m confused. So I talked to Jacqueline, then cathy who also seemed just as confused and not helpful, as jacqueline. And now shes going to get me another person? Cathy finds the keys and this is when i meet joe. It became apparent that the car was not ready and i had to wait another 15 minutes for him to clean the snow off. He then asked me if i was looking to buy that day or not before even showing me the car! I felt he was rushing to get me out and i barely knew anything about the car when we were already talking about price. He tells me he’s going to take care of me and not to worry. He comes back with what seemed like a random quote with none of my information on it, as he never actually asked for my id either (maybe because we did not go on a drive, i don’t know). He proceeds to tell me that the discounted price online is no longer valid if I want to take advantage of the low interest rates on the new cars provided by subaru, so basically i can only have one or the other. This is a LIE. I did my research before coming in and spoke to a few other dealers that would honor both the discount and the interest rate, even though joe tried to convince me that was the only way to do it. Joe then brings his young condescending sales manager out to talk to me. I cant remember his name but he was wearing a baseball cap. Could this place be any more unprofessional? After much back and forth the manager agrees to the advertised sales price and said he would quote me at the 2.9 rate, but to just remember i would need to qualify for it (i knew that already). So he says he quoted me at 2.9 and i put the numbers in my loan calculator, and i cant even say i was surprised that the monthly payment he quoted me at was about 70 more than my calculator was showing because he used a 10% rate. He tells me the online calculators are always incorrect. WHAT? Yet another LIE. I have used them multiple times to purchase other vehicles. At this point i tell them to have a great day and leave. I am not an impatient man and i know things happen so I tried to give them a chance until the very end but, the dysfunction and deceitful sales practices was the final straw for me. I feel bad for anyone that has fallen for this stuff. Luckily i was able to find the same car at minooka and they even gave me a better discount after hearing my experience! David Koch was wonderful. He worked diligently with me to get the 2022 Subaru Premium to a price I could afford.
