Gives used-car salesmen a bad reputation The salesman we had was slick, evasive, and lied to our faces. It wasn't until we were completely done that we realized any of this, of course. The salesman we had was slick, evasive, and lied to our faces. It wasn't until we were completely done that we realized any of this, of course. The service department must be non-existent, because the car that was supposedly given a "thirty-point inspection" barely made it the forty-five miles home. It had metal showing through on three of the four tires, had a tremendous shudder at speeds of 55 to 60 mph (which we were prevented from discovering during the test-drive because the salesman, Jerry, wouldn't allow us to take the vehicle onto the freeway), had a cracked radiator, and had an oil leak caused by an improperly-installed oil filter. Within the first 24 hours, we had to replace all four tires and have the front-end aligned. We also had to pay for a replacement key fob in order to securely lock the vehicle. A short time later, the radiator blew and our trusted mechanic was able to determine that the crack had been there for quite some time. He also said the oil filter was not installed properly and was "spewing oil all over the engine." He assured us that these are issues that would have been noticed if the car had indeed been given any kind of inspection. If the dealership hadn't been more than 75 miles from our home (and this mechanic) we would have had him inspect it before we purchased it. All in all, we had to put more than $1,000 into repairs to fix everything that was wrong with the car. The finance staff was rude and condescending, and pulled every trick in the book to hide the real cost of what we were committing to until we had time to read the papers after we left the dealership. We were not given any opportunity to review the papers before signing. We made the mistake of telling them that we had to leave by a certain time (previous appointment in the area) so they deliberately drug out the process (waiting well over an hour just between the salesman saying the deal was accepted and the finance staff starting to print the paperwork) so that we wouldn't have time to properly review the contract. We arrived before 10:00 in the morning, but didn't leave until well after 3:30 pm, having had to reschedule our other appointment after all because of all the delays. We were told that some of the fees were required by the finance company; later when confirming with the finance company we found that this was patently false; as a result the finance company refused to fund the loan and rather than give us the opportunity to arrange private financing the dealership just wanted to back out of the deal and take the car back. This was, of course, after we had already paid for the repairs (and the dealership knew it). It was only due to the help of a different salesman, Lawrence, that we were able to protect our investment. He intervened on our behalf to allow us enough time to arrange financing through our local bank (at half the interest rate that the dealership offered) and he arranged to get the price lowered to what we thought we had agreed to pay (again, the lies about “fees” hid the real price on the contract). Thanks to Lawrence’s actions, we were finally able to get a fair price for the car and a much better financing arrangement. Lawrence is the only employee that we worked with at this dealership who treated us respectfully and honestly. He truly deserves to be working at any other dealership than this one. I can’t imagine another used-car dealership being worse than David Stanley Chevrolet in Norman. More

I wanted to take a few minutes to share my experience with this dealership. I am beyond disappointed with their lack of professionalism. I took a day off from work and was scheduled to come up to Norman to purchase a 2015 Tahoe, but the salesman and Internet Sales Director backed out of the deal at the last minute for no reason other than they chose not to sell the vehicle for our agreed upon price, which was fully documented. Their response was, “Sorry, we cannot honor what we agreed to on Friday.” Please, think twice before going to this dealer. There are plenty of other Chevy dealers in this area that actually care about the customer and will go above and beyond to provide a fair deal. More

Initially helpful place. Jordan was awesome, however thats about all that was good. Purchased one month ago and just had to get a new temp tag because they havent sent the tag and title yet. Incentives thats about all that was good. Purchased one month ago and just had to get a new temp tag because they havent sent the tag and title yet. Incentives that were mentioned such as tires for life means that during you inspection if you need a tire we will help. Also means that we arent going to put a spare tire in so if you get a flat or have a blow out, your out of luck. Woke up to a flat, used their "repair kit" they give you where the spare should be, aired it up and drove to work. 8 hours later flat again. Called about the tires for life and was told a new tire is 200 dollars, but i was told during purchase that they replace tires when needed such as a flat or blow out. Called to talk to a manager (Eric) who said he said he would look in to it and call back in 10 minutes, its been 10 hours and counting. If your desperate for a new ride, they will do whatever it takes to get your business, but be prepared for some disappointments after purchase. More
