I grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, where I met my wonderful wife. We’ve been happily married for 41 years. I proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 5 years, which instilled in me a strong sense of discipline and dedication. In August 1987, I began my career selling GM vehicles and spent 35 years working at the Troy Motor Mall. In April 2022, I transitioned to Serra Buick GMC in Rochester Hills. Now, I have the pleasure of working alongside my two sons, Jake and Josh. Together, we are known as “The Swanson’s at Serra.” Over the years, I have sold and delivered more than 7,250 vehicles. I love my job and am excited to come to work every day with a smile on my face. When you come in to see me, I will make sure you are treated with respect and in a friendly, professional manner.

From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt completely at ease—an experience that was far from what I had anticipated. We initially worked with John Swanson and later with Jake, and both were fantastic. They provided valuable information, treated us with respect, and made the entire process pressure-free and enjoyable. With their guidance, we quickly narrowed down our options and found the perfect car. Before we knew it, everything was taken care of, and we were driving home in her new vehicle.
