A Very Good New Car Purchase Experience The dealership is nice, spacious, and has comfortable waiting areas. The automatic coffee machine is great and makes an excellent cappuccino. My sales The dealership is nice, spacious, and has comfortable waiting areas. The automatic coffee machine is great and makes an excellent cappuccino. My salesman (John Monis) was attentive during visits, responsive via phone and text, and conducted himself in a professional and pleasant manner. He provided accurate product information for several vehicles. I was pleased with the purchase experience for my new 2015 Equinox. It had been used as a dealership courtesy vehicle for 3200 miles. The internet price stated on their website was very low according to pricing data available elsewhere online. Both the bumper to bumper and drive train warranties are extended the additional 3200 miles. The 2 years (24K miles) maintenance, tires for life, key replacement, and other items are a reassuring bonus of the purchase. More

Gives used-car salesmen a bad reputation The salesman we had was slick, evasive, and lied to our faces. It wasn't until we were completely done that we realized any of this, of course. The salesman we had was slick, evasive, and lied to our faces. It wasn't until we were completely done that we realized any of this, of course. The service department must be non-existent, because the car that was supposedly given a "thirty-point inspection" barely made it the forty-five miles home. It had metal showing through on three of the four tires, had a tremendous shudder at speeds of 55 to 60 mph (which we were prevented from discovering during the test-drive because the salesman, Jerry, wouldn't allow us to take the vehicle onto the freeway), had a cracked radiator, and had an oil leak caused by an improperly-installed oil filter. Within the first 24 hours, we had to replace all four tires and have the front-end aligned. We also had to pay for a replacement key fob in order to securely lock the vehicle. A short time later, the radiator blew and our trusted mechanic was able to determine that the crack had been there for quite some time. He also said the oil filter was not installed properly and was "spewing oil all over the engine." He assured us that these are issues that would have been noticed if the car had indeed been given any kind of inspection. If the dealership hadn't been more than 75 miles from our home (and this mechanic) we would have had him inspect it before we purchased it. All in all, we had to put more than $1,000 into repairs to fix everything that was wrong with the car. The finance staff was rude and condescending, and pulled every trick in the book to hide the real cost of what we were committing to until we had time to read the papers after we left the dealership. We were not given any opportunity to review the papers before signing. We made the mistake of telling them that we had to leave by a certain time (previous appointment in the area) so they deliberately drug out the process (waiting well over an hour just between the salesman saying the deal was accepted and the finance staff starting to print the paperwork) so that we wouldn't have time to properly review the contract. We arrived before 10:00 in the morning, but didn't leave until well after 3:30 pm, having had to reschedule our other appointment after all because of all the delays. We were told that some of the fees were required by the finance company; later when confirming with the finance company we found that this was patently false; as a result the finance company refused to fund the loan and rather than give us the opportunity to arrange private financing the dealership just wanted to back out of the deal and take the car back. This was, of course, after we had already paid for the repairs (and the dealership knew it). It was only due to the help of a different salesman, Lawrence, that we were able to protect our investment. He intervened on our behalf to allow us enough time to arrange financing through our local bank (at half the interest rate that the dealership offered) and he arranged to get the price lowered to what we thought we had agreed to pay (again, the lies about “fees” hid the real price on the contract). Thanks to Lawrence’s actions, we were finally able to get a fair price for the car and a much better financing arrangement. Lawrence is the only employee that we worked with at this dealership who treated us respectfully and honestly. He truly deserves to be working at any other dealership than this one. I can’t imagine another used-car dealership being worse than David Stanley Chevrolet in Norman. More

He had been driving my Durango for the past few weeks while trying to get his truck fixed. He would fix one thing and another thing would would break. I finally asked him if he thought it may be time to try to get another car. He wasn't real interested in paying for a car as he had always paid cash. We looked around and just couldn't find what he was looking for. He applied at drive time and was approved. On the morning of May 14 we were headed to drive time to see if we could get him a car. We were on the road headed to drive time when I got a call from David Malone. He wanted to see if we had already purchased a car for my son. I said to him it's so funny we were on our way to look at drive time. Something at that moment told me to turn the car in the direction of David Stanley. I hopped on the highway and headed toward Norman. Upon arrival, We were greeted by Mr.Malone and his sales manager John monis! Mr monis proceeded to work all the angles he could to get my son approved for his dream truck. A short visit and a lot of signatures later my son drove his dream car off of their lot! The look on his face was priceless! As a mom, it made me so happy to see him so excited. I'm grateful to all the gentlemen that helped my son get into his dream car. - April Littleton More

After the early May 2015 storms blew through Norman, I found myself on the search for a vehicle for my wife. I reached out to John and he quickly assisted me in narrowing my search to a 2014 Buick Enclave. It was a simple one stop shop and no haggling necessary on my part as I felt good overall and will be back for that Truck soon. Highly recommend John Monis, and although he works on the new car side... he was able to reach across the isle and help me with a pre-owned vehicle to ensure I had a happy wife! -Alex More

But after our salesman John Monis heard about the other deals we were getting, he said they would do what they had to to gain our business. I think we still could have got the car a little bit cheaper out of state, but by the time you figure in gas or plane tickets to get there, lodging, etc, it was best we stay here local. We feel we got a good deal. John Monis and Shawn Groff the GM took care of us. I also liked the fact that the finance guy, Steven Sringer, didn't try to push any of the extra's on us. Don't like pushy at all and I don't feel we got pressured into anything. Love the 24 months of free oil change. Wish it were longer but appreciate the 24 months. Love the free popcorn too!! :) More

John Monis was very professionsl, knew the product extremely well and demonstrated strong integrity throughout the process. He sold us on the merits of the vehicle and did not play the 'cat & mouse' game you run into so many times when buying a new car. Jordan Miles was also very helpful during one visit in John's absence and also left us with a good impression. We left with a very strong positive impression of David Stanley Chevrolet and are extremely satisifed with the end result. Will not hesitate to come back to them for future purchases. More

The Salesman John Monis was there from the time we met until I drove out and was there explaining each part of the sales procedure. After the sale he was there to help me move Items from my old vehicle to the new/used 2012 Tahoe, and that was a first for me to get that level of help. Before I left John explained every item from the electronics to auto start and etc. My thanks to all at David Stanley Chevrolet of Norman. The sales department was super in working a payment that I could afford as a low income senior. I received a good price for my SUV on the trade in price. I am sure that Jerry Effinger on the management staff did a superior effort to make this process work, Thanks for a splendid effort. Darrell E. McDevitt P.S.
