What was called a “no pressure” experience, turned into frustration. I pulled up looking for information on a Pilot. I was greeted by Joe. He gave me information and we took a touring for a test drive. Whe frustration. I pulled up looking for information on a Pilot. I was greeted by Joe. He gave me information and we took a touring for a test drive. When I asked to see some numbers, I was told “we don’t do that unless you’re sure you are buying.” I placed a deposit on an incoming trailsport thinking that was the trim I wanted and left. I returned a few days later to test drive one they had received. During the test drives I would ask questions about the car and did receive answers but the amount of times my trade was bashed was getting old. Some numbers were presented for a lease but something wasn’t sitting right with me. I felt like my wants and needs for what I was looking for were never heard. I wanted to be at a specific monthly payment but felt ignored so I left to think it over. Later that night I expressed my concerns that the car didn’t have a feature I wanted (on board navigation ) but Joe said “Apple CarPlay will work just fine. You don’t need it.” I found a used Elite at another dealer and requested my deposit back from Serra Honda. Of course there was some pushback. I explained to Joe that I wanted to stay in a certain budget which I explained multiple times during my visits. He finally comes back with some numbers to purchase a trailsport and states they will match the trade offer “without driving it!” (Keep in mind I had been there twice already and they weren’t interested in looking at the trade. He just wanted to bash how inferior my car was to Honda) I explained again budget is really important but he responded with “so it’s only a few dollars more.” (Without interest, the payment I calculated was already $200 more. ) I thanked him for his time and requested my deposit back. Sure there is no pressure to buy but not actively listening to your customers wants and needs is frustrating. More

I am so pleased with Serra Honda of Offallon Illinois and the Salesman Joe Duco. This is the second time I’ve dealt with Joe. He is kind, respectful and never pushy getting a deal. Stay Away! ! 1 star because 0 isn’t an option. Worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. I purchase a new vehicle every 1-2 years and this is hands down take ! 1 star because 0 isn’t an option. Worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. I purchase a new vehicle every 1-2 years and this is hands down takes the cake for worst dealership and experience. The finance manager Sean Griffin will lie straight to your face. We denied any “add ons” in the back and he STILL put everything on!! Luckily I caught it when I got home just a couple hours later cause he added on over 4k dollars in xx coverage. He will joke and laugh with you to rush you through the paper work so you don’t see it. Don’t make the same mistake I did. I knew better, but everything seemed great until I got home and caught it. My Bad! Save yourself the headache and if you’re looking for a Honda see the surrounding dealerships in the area so you don’t get cheated. It took over two weeks to get the paperwork all and straightened out cause once you buy the car and call back up there the new car manager and finance manager won’t pick up or return phone calls. Hmm wonder why?…A nightmare to say the least. Wouldn’t recommend Serra Honda to my worst enemy! More

Not only a good dealership, a good member of the community. They have fair, upfront pricing that matches what is expected based upon on-line recommendations. Their staff communicates well, are efficient and attentive. In the process of buying a new car or getting my new car serviced there has not been anything that was unexpected or handled poorly. They are mature in their dealings and fair in their pricing compared to other dealerships. Their service department has a policy of having trainees working with experienced mechanics, which brings out the best in both. Of any dealership we've dealt with, we like Serra the best. More
