I joined the industry in 1998 at Gateway Mazda (which is now Schomp Mazda). My favorite MINI is the MINI Cooper S 2 door because as we like to say - it’s a street legal go-kart. DO NOT BUY ANY ELECTRIC CAR. In March 2023, I purchased a new 2023 Mini Cooper SE 2 Door. This dealership talked me out of a motorized vehicle. During this time, they were offe In March 2023, I purchased a new 2023 Mini Cooper SE 2 Door. This dealership talked me out of a motorized vehicle. During this time, they were offering tax incentives to move their electric car inventory. Since I purchased this car, I have only encountered problems. This car does not perform as promised and is not properly designed. This car is not safe. Additionally, Schomp Mini manipulated me, stating it would be cheaper than having a gas model. BMW and MINI have not created a safe car, worthy of their premium pricing. It is overvalued and it does not meet safety standards. After consulting several entities, MINI, BMW and Schomp Mini seem to have engaged in manipulation, misrepresentation and false advertising, among other practices. There are design defects with this model, which pose various safety issues. First, the advertisements stated a range of 100 to 114 miles on a full charge, which Schomp Mini also told me. Contrary to their advertising, you spend more money charging than you spend on gas for a gas car. Additionally, the advertising said it would take 4 hours to charge at your home and this is what I was also told. Instead, it takes 2 full days at home to get it close to a full charge. While selling the car to me, they promised the car would reach at least 100 miles on a full charge. However, this car does not reach that amount at all. Also, this car abruptly stops charging before reaching the “full charge”. Besides the range, it significantly drains the battery to turn on the AC and the heat. If it is cold outside, it will also drain the battery and drastically delay charging. I have to make a choice between being hot/freezing and getting to my destination or not turning on heat/ac and not getting to my destination. Over the course of my ownership, this car has had 4 flat tires on a brand new car. When I have talked to automotive experts, they say it is because this car is heavier than a gas model. When I reached out to MINI and BMW, they said tires are considered “natural wear” and they are not responsible for that. A Schomp Mini mechanic also stated that this model weighs more than a gas model, making it more susceptible to flat tires. This should have been mentioned to me at the point of sale, as I would not have purchased this car. This car is not safe nor is it reliable for a young woman to have. Who knows if the tires will blow out on the highway or in a bad neighborhood. I have already spent thousands of dollars on these tires, all within one year. The tires go flat every 2 to 3 months and to top it off, there is no spare included with this car. This demonstrates how BMW/Mini have not designed a proper tire for this car. Additionally, there are software bugs with charging and Apple CarPlay syncing. While trying to plug into various chargers, the charger gives me an error message saying, “unable to charge”. This information was withheld from me at the time of purchase. While speaking to several people at Schomp Mini, they said there have been a lot of complaints about this car and told me these sound like issues with the car. All three entities are refusing to take accountability for their actions and for this product. Instead, they are directing blame toward each other. I refuse to do business with Mini, BMW and Schomp Mini ever again. I will ensure I let others know this as well. Schomp Mini did not provide the sales contract to me at the time of purchase, as I had not seen it again until a month ago when I had to ask for it. Over the last year, I have filed numerous complaints with MINI, BMW, and Schomp Mini regarding these issues. This has been an ongoing problem and all parties have been unresponsive. They are uninterested in helping me and saying there is nothing else they can do. Another matter I was not aware of was that these cars depreciate by half. I will start by saying I am very happy with my Mini. I came in on a Friday afternoon. The sales person I had been texting with was busy. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and another associate he I came in on a Friday afternoon. The sales person I had been texting with was busy. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and another associate helped me with test driving the vehicle. I did have to wait several hours to complete the cash purchase. At this time it was quite late. My car was sent for detail but it was assumed I wasn’t taking it that night because it was so late. My key was in the locker of the employee but I was provided the spare and the key was mailed to me. I was hoping at some point someone would go over some of the features of the car. I’ve purchased a certified preowned Mini in the past and was given a very nice walk through of the vehicle. In this instance I was given my car and I was literally the last person at the dealership. I wasn’t comfortable sitting alone at night in the parking lot trying to learn about my vehicle. It was snowing and I had an hour drive home. I’m still trying to learn the nuances of my Clubman and set myself as primary driver. Overall I feel as though my experience is probably the exception, however, I’m not sure I would purchase another vehicle here based on this experience. More

We were greeted promptly upon entering the dealership and he answered all of our questions quickly and accurately. The whole process was a bit longer then the advertised 1 hour which I didn’t even know about he answered all of our questions quickly and accurately. The whole process was a bit longer then the advertised 1 hour which I didn’t even know about until he explained it to me, but that was never an issue. Since we were trading in a very expensive vehicle we knew it was going to be a bit of a longer process. He was very communicative every step of the way. The whole deal took about 3 ish days to complete because of our trade and financing, but it was never a concern because his communication was spot on. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle! More
