I called three times since the review was written. Short story is that Jim told me on a Monday that Wednesday they would decide what resolve they would be doing. Jim never called me so the Friday of that week I called him. Jim said,” we did agree to return the whole amount I had requested but since you posted a negative review, You won’t be getting anything.” After some discussion I asked how much help they were going to offer. Jim said, “The whole $1,000.” I had to replace the engine at a cost of $3,500. I asked for Herlong to pay half since they knew about the problems and did not tell me before I bought it. Jim claims they sold me an “as is” vehicle and they have no obligation to tell me. He also said they would have taken it to auction had they known how bad the engine was. A mechanic and the shop manager were asked about the engine and AC as we listened to the truck idle. They both flat out withheld information they knew and I was cheated on this purchase. I had $6,000 to buy a truck with and that’s all. I am a retired pastor with very limited funds. After the purchase of the truck, I had to put another $3,900 In the form of an engine, radiator and AC repair. Herlong Ford said the AC needed 2 parts to fix it. They were wrong and I’m glad I had another mechanic look at it. Herlong would have had me spend over $300 to fix the AC. I had it fixed for half that much and got the right parts replaced without replacing the parts Herlong said needed replaced. Jim said he is not worried about me posting a negative review because he can simply reply saying I bought an “as is” vehicle and assumed all responsibility for any repairs. That fact does not give Herlong Ford the right to withhold information from customers. That is fraud and misrepresentation. Then he punished me for writing a negative review!! That is bullying and certainly bad customer service (very demeaning). I told Jim my negative review would be changed to positive when Herlong Ford offers something positive to settle this terrible deal. So far they just keep making it worse. I am seeking the owner to share this with him/her. If they agree Jim is doing the right thing for the dealership, I/we as a consumer need to get busier warning the public of the lying, cheating and poor treatment of people that goes on there with the blessings of the ownership on down. BUYERS BEWARE!!! 11/15/20 UPDATE Please note the lie told in Herlong’s reply above. I still haven’t heard from the owner or anyone interested in making this situation better. They put up a good front while stealing your money and treating horribly! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!
