An anomaly began when I called Schrier Automotive about a Mustang GT and Russ answered. He was warm, friendly, and a knowledgeable salesman, whose personality beamed with the love of automobiles and people. Mustang GT and Russ answered. After discussing the equipment and options, the car seemed a perfect fit and I described my trade-in. Russ called back in a few minutes with a quote. I knew what my trade was worth and the fair value of the Mustang and I couldn’t do that deal. Russ responded, “what can you do?” After some thought, I had a walk-away-price and made the offer. There was discouragement in his voice but Russ said, “well, I’ll give your offer to Chuck (the sales manager).” Now, this has always been the dreadful part of buying a car; the seemingly endless offer-counter offer where the dealership scratches and claws the price upward until they have milked it for the last $50. And in the meantime, the salesman, pretending to be my new best friend, bombards me with questions that will help them determine how bad I want the car and how much I am willing to pay. Russ and Chuck, in contrast, did not play that game. The next morning, Russ called back and said, “I had to talk Chuck into taking your offer, but we’ll do the deal.” I’ve listened to salesmen’s rhetoric before and you can tell when they are not sincere or truthful. So I believe that somehow, Russ knew that was my walk-away offer and being a skilled closer encouraged Chuck to accept it. It was a 3 hour drive to Schrier’s, and on the way, Chuck called me with a short cut across Omaha that saved me 40 minutes. Chuck, has 40 years experience in the car business and was a busy man, but never-the-less, suggested I call him back with any complications with the short cut. He was kindhearted, helpful, and easy to talk to. Schrier Automotive has a beautiful facility perched on a hill with windows on three sides that give a panoramic view of the city. The interior boasted upscale business décor fresh, clean, and immaculately maintained. When I drove in, Russ was already outside beside the Mustang. During a thorough inspection and a test drive, I learned that it was Russ’s day off and he had planned to golf on that 70 degree December day. But he came in anyway to accommodate my schedule. Now that is dedication. Chuck already had the documentation prepared and 10 minutes later I was off-loading my bags and belongings from my trade-in into my new car. Once again I was impressed when Russ, instead of heading to the golf course, helped me empty my trade-in and load up. In addition to his honest, friendly, and energetic demeanor, Russ was definitely a superstar in customer service as well as sales. This buying experience left me convinced that Schrier Automotive deserves every award and accommodation listed on their website. Two weeks later, I received the title in the mail as promised. For the first time, it was a pleasure buying a car; offer, counter offer, acceptance, test drive, 10 minutes of documentation, and done. **REVIEW UPDATE** 11/28/21 BEFORE purchasing a car from Schrier CHECK THE CARFAX REPORT! Our car was missing several crucial (expensive parts) that come standard on the car! I called Schrier back about the Schrier CHECK THE CARFAX REPORT! Our car was missing several crucial (expensive parts) that come standard on the car! I called Schrier back about the electrochromatic ELECTROCHROMATIC MIRROR that is missing and they claim they traded for the car that way, but the price I paid did not reflect it. The car is also missing a guard on one of the trunk rails and the side mirrors come standard heated and with turn signal in the mirrors..these mirrors are aftermarket, plain mirrors just like the rearview mirror that someone put in the car. AND the windshield has been replaced. It is safe to say this car was in an accident! SO MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ANY CAR YOU BUY FROM THEM OUT THORUGHLY!! More
