Purchased 2 vehicles same day, 1 new, 1 pre-owned. Be aware of the deceptive practices of dealership when going through financing. ASK what the costs of each different add on because if you don't, they just show you what the difference is in your monthly payment with all these add ons so you aren't made aware of the additional $ you are paying/adding to overall vehicle cost. VERY DECEPTIVE practice and they know it. Apparenlty THIS is how they operate and how the finance person makes commission. The big screen documents on the desk top is another part of their sales tactic. You really only get shown the signature area as the finance person is chatting with you and skims over the document details, not ever showing you the line items/pricing. Don't let it suck you in. After I looked over the emailed documents the next day and discovered actually what we had purchased and the price for each, I went back to dealership to speak with sales manager and finance. Sales manager couldn't be bothered and never came to speak to me. I spoke with finance and she ensured me I was made aware of what I was buying. She DID NOT want to give me initial sales price paperwork and would "show me" and then promptly remove paperwork from my sight but I ensisted on taking a copy. Again, she told me i was made aware of what I was purchasing by her showing me AGAIN only the difference in the montly payments with the different insurances. On top of this deception and method of doing business, she looked over my shoulder more than once and winked and made a smirk at someone standing outside the glass enclosed office like she was pacifying a customer. Very unprofessional and frankly, rude. Sales managers are stereotypical and just what you'd expect from a typical car dearler, good ole boys. When you say you want a 4 wheel drive vehicle and the salesman doesn't know the difference in an All Wheel and a 4x4, there is a problem. The car sticker says 4x4 but in reality the vehicle is only an all wheel drive and salesman and sales manager apparently don't know the Jeep Grand Cherokee line well enough to know that or want to make sure customer understands how Jeep markets their products. Service department for Jeep missed a crack in our Jeep Wrangler coolant resevior the first time it was brought in for overheating. Was told there was "probably an air bubble in coolant line and it needed a coolant flush" ($536) because they couldn't find any other reason for overheating. Six weeks later when overheating problem still occuring, took back in and crack was discovered. Tried to repair but was told not repairable and part was on 1100 part backorder so vehicle couldn't be repaired & was not drivable, hence the new vehicle purchase. If crack in reservoir was initially discovered possibly could have been repaired, part found & we wouldn't have been out $536 for flush nor need new vehicle. The pre-owned vehicle that was purchased had oil service light come on 4 days after purchased. Was told notification was probably was just not reset when service was performed. Really? Or was service not done on the vehicle? Who knows but sales manager seemed unbothered by it and said "they'd reset notification system if we brought it back in", not "bring it back in ASAP and well ensure maintenance was done on the vehicle and will do it if not, so sorry for this inconvenience". Paperwork shows 2 key FOBs to this vehicle were given to us but only 1 was and when I asked salesman before leaving, sales manager told us to come back at later date for them to give us second because we could claim it on the FOB replacement insurance we purchased.??? This was my second time dealing with Covert for purchasing a vehicle. The first time they lost my business to Cavender GMC in SA for a multitude of reasons. My experience dealing with Cavender was SO much better and more enjoyable and I didn't leave feeling scammed. Next time, I will follow my gut and not be influenced otherwise. More
