I drove four hours from New York City after being told my trade-in would not be an issue if it was in good condition. My Tesla has about 21,000 miles and is in excellent shape, yet Izzy appraised it as “fair” condition and initially offered $22,000, even though Kelley Blue Book shows a value between $29,000 and $30,000.
When I questioned the condition rating, Izzy said he has “been doing this for 17 years” but still insisted on subtracting $1,000–$2,000 “just in case” there might be issues — even while acknowledging the vehicle was in excellent condition. That approach was not fair, transparent, or professional.
The offer was later raised to $25,000, but Izzy stated that they don’t like electric vehicles and that “no one wants to buy them,” which made it clear my car was being undervalued simply because it was an EV. If that was their position, I never should have been asked to drive such a long distance for an appraisal.
When I declined the offer and said I would not accept less than $27,000, Izzy became dismissive and said he was “here to sell me his car, not buy mine,” even though I was there to trade my vehicle in order to purchase theirs.
This was a huge waste of time and a very unprofessional experience. I would not recommend working with Izzy Santisteban if you expect honesty, fair valuations, or respectful customer service.

I want to clarify that this response is not accurate. I was never contacted by anyone from MotorWorld Hyundai, and I did not speak with Sales Manager Scott Peters or anyone else regarding my concerns.
If such a call took place, I would appreciate documentation of the date, time, and phone number used, because no call or voicemail was received on my end.
My original review reflects my actual experience at the dealership, including the in-person interaction that led me to leave. Posting a public response stating that a conversation occurred when it did not is disappointing and only reinforces my concerns about transparency.

I do not recall ever receiving a call from Scott Peters directly. However, I do recall receiving a call from someone who asked how my experience was. When I began explaining what had happened at the dealership, I was interrupted before I could finish.
At that point, the caller stated something along the lines of “I’m sure that’s what they meant,” without allowing me to fully explain my concerns. Because it was clear that the caller was not interested in listening to or understanding my experience, I stated that the conversation was over and ended the call.
To clarify, there was no meaningful discussion with Scott Peters in which my concerns were addressed or resolved. My original review remains an accurate reflection of my experience at MotorWorld Hyundai.
