Uncalled for! Manager called my husband a "terrorist" and "bully" because we would not purchase their additional protection plans. My husband and I recently visited Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram in Newark, CA, after finding what seemed to be a great deal online. We went to test drive the vehicle and, after some discussion, agreed to the online sales price. However, we chose to decline the additional protection plans and warranties. The salesperson, Sam, ran my husband's credit for financing. We had to request a copy of the credit report and when provided, the report was handed over with visible frustration from the sales team mentioning it is not something they typically do. After waiting for the final numbers, we were given a piece of paper that only listed the agreed sales price and monthly payment and were asked to sign it without being shown any other details. We asked for a breakdown of the payment, as the total was higher than our own calculations. After some resistance, they finally provided the breakdown, revealing an additional $4,200 charge for "accessories"--which turned out to be the very protection plans we had originally declined. The manager then came over to speak with us and explained that the website's price did not include these mandatory add-on protection plans. This felt like an attempt to disguise the true cost of the vehicle and pressure us into signing something we didn't fully understand. We were deeply disappointed by this lack of transparency and attempts to hide additional fees. The situation took an unfortunate turn when, after my husband mentioned he might leave a negative review on Yelp, the manager escalated the conversation in an unprofessional manner. He called my husband a "terrorist" and a "bully"--remarks that were both inappropriate and completely uncalled for. It's hard to believe that such behavior came from someone in a leadership position. The younger sales staff, Sam and Jose, seemed like genuine and respectful individuals, but they were clearly being led by someone who was quick to anger and unprofessional in his approach to handling customer concerns. This experience has left us not only disappointed but also concerned about how the dealership operates. We have no intention of doing business with them, nor would we recommend anyone else do so under these circumstances. At the very least, the dealership should reevaluate its leadership and how it treats its customers. No one should be subjected to such poor service or behavior when making a major purchase. More
