The purchasing process is daunting, often times with the customer and sales person assuming cagey stances, which causes that dynamic to turn adversarial. I had nothing to worry about at Cityside Subaru, as I was able to do everything in advance over email with Rob, and have the exact color and options I had researched online for my new Forester. I had shopped around and he was able to get me the best price. When I went to pick up my car, all I had to do is fill out paperwork with Michael which was painless and I have to say almost fun. He explained everything clearly and it was a quick process. Flavio Fonseca was wonderful, communicating through the whole process and explaining all the features of my new Forester. I was so excited about getting the car and Flavio took pictures of me with my car--I feel he was almost as excited as I was to get me in my perfect car. I expect my Forester to last many years with service from Cityside! More

Talked up on different car Favio was the salesperson that I worked with and he was very accommodating when I requested that all negotiation was in terms of out the door cost and Favio was the salesperson that I worked with and he was very accommodating when I requested that all negotiation was in terms of out the door cost and helped me fill several blank papers with sums as we worked through the process. That said I was initially told that a car with just the features I wanted wasn't available in the northeast, so got talked into a car with more features, which was more expensive. Then we talked up the price a bit based on the higher sticker price, then we found out that car was actually sold (was at a different dealership). Then magically a car with just the features I wanted and no more was found on an incoming shipment, but I had already admitted to being willing to pay X, which weakened my ability to talk back down again. In the end I feel like I do feel like I got a reasonable deal, but the path there meant that I probably paid a bit more than I would have otherwise, and more than I had wanted to when I walked in. More
