Parts manager tried to change me more than double the price for an axel assembly. When I researched the part online he then tried to tell me that it wasn’t an “Original Honda Part” even after confirming price for an axel assembly. When I researched the part online he then tried to tell me that it wasn’t an “Original Honda Part” even after confirming that part number matched perfectly. I had to push and ended up “making a deal” with him to charge me $800 for the part when the msrp on that part was about $730. The original quote they gave me was in the amount $1650 for the part alone. Add that to the labor and other service costs and taxes the total amount I owed was in about $2300 give or take. And they were going to generously apply a military discount.(how nice). I didn’t think I would need to negotiate the cost of a part on my car before bringing it in for service bro wanted to charge me like I was buying a new car. Mind you it’s a type r so the cost is already inflated but xxxx that was some egregious xxxx. “I’m here to make money” was his exact words on the phone. I mean I get it’s a business but have some conscience if the price was somewhat comparable I’d let it slide but more than double is what they went for. Crazy stuff man. Never again. I will say though turn around was good Chloe was great and the technicians that handles the car and that I spoke to was great I appreciate them.
