I rate my experience a C+/B- No one I talked to seemed to have complete information. It looks like you're due for an oil change . For an electric car, I don't think so. Service should take 2 hours ... or to have complete information. It looks like you're due for an oil change . For an electric car, I don't think so. Service should take 2 hours ... or 45 min. ... or 3 hours. The paperwork says a PA inspection is $29.95 ... "I don't know why it says that." I was really hoping for a stellar experience but instead I was just glad to be done. Although I've rated people, please disregard because I don't know who checked me in. More

Always helpful. Quick service when I needed a windshield wiper housing unit replaced. I like the service team here and prefer it to Otto’s. Quick service when I needed a windshield wiper housing unit replaced. I like the service team here and prefer it to Otto’s. More

My saga started with a tapping in the motor of my 2009 Mini S which I purchased new from Mini of the Mainline. Upon my first visit I was told that the car was 1 quart low on oil and mini motor use oil on a regular basis. The service department added the oil and sent me on my way. So far so good? I was not convinced that low oil was the issue. Within the next month to 2 month the motor sounded like a diesel so I called and went in and spoke to a different service advisor. He was nice enough to come outside and heard it for himself. He told me they needed to hold the car and do a thorough investigation as to what is causing the issue. I was given a loaner and sent on my way. After a couple of days I picked up the car and was told I had a stretched timing chain caused by a piston driven chain tensioner and they had replaced the chain and the tensioner. So far so good... NOT!. I drove the car home and when I put the air-conditioning on it vibrated so bad I could not talk to the passenger at times. I called the dealer again. I was told to bring it in again. The next day I was informed that the tensioner was defective and had to be replaced, second time... I agreed and got the car back in a couple of days. No charge so far. BTW, the tapping never stopped and the once quiet motor was never as quiet again. I also got a mysterious 5 miles away from the dealer. I'm not saying anyone purposely caused it, but coincidence? I ended up having to buy a tire. A few months later I was driving on the PA turnpike and the car just lost power and went into a limp mode. I called the dealer once again and brought it in. Again the car had to stay the night. BTW the car was 3 years old at this time. I was called the next day and told that a spark coil went bad and a bulb in the backup light broke and fused to the socket making it unusable and had to be replaced. I thought I should not be charged for the coil and was told that if I pay for the coil, the socket would be free. Oh, okay lets make a deal... I agreed and paid for the coil. all done? NOT! Soon after I smelled antifreeze, but thought it was just road smell until a passenger smelled it. I started paying attention to the level of antifreeze. After a week the antifreeze reserve tank was empty. Since it was during the heat wave, I added antifreeze and kept an eye on it. A week later coming off the PA turnpike and the yellow thermometer light came on. Now I'm worried. Limped to my house and checked to find the reserve empty again. I waited until morning not wanting to put cold antifreeze into an over heated car. The next morning I added the antifreeze and went right to Mini of the mainline again. I asked the advisor to talk to me outside the service area so as not to be upset in front of customers. I informed him that it seems funny that in a 4 month expanse of time I'm having such issues since the timing chain problem. He talked over me and argued that he worked at many dealers and he knew what he was talking about and that was the reason for warranties. I did not expect this type of treatment from a person that I praised for finding the timing chain issue. I told him he was a company man and had to look out for both the company and the consumer. I was then accused of personally attacking him. An obvious chip on his shoulder. I went directly to the service manager because I did not deserve this type of treatment considering all the issues with getting the car fixed correctly. The service manager called me into the garage to talk to his shop foreman. I was told that the water pump was leaking and had to be replaced and that this was an ongoing issue. I was told that I would have to pay for this and disputed that. I told the service manager that there was no way I should pay for a defect. He told me that he would try to get it approved so I would not have to pay. This was on a Thursday. Again I was told to leave the car over night which turned into 4 days. Please let me make it know that I loved my mini and had no plans on trading it at this time. I called Friday received no answer with a status until Saturday morning. Finally, Tuesday I got a call to pick up the car. I was not charged. I got in the car and started it up and still there was a small tapping. After speaking with several other mechanics, I was told that this car will always cause issues and to trade it in while I can. I followed their advice and traded it in for a Nissan Altima. I still love Mini and am sorry I purchased it from Mini of the Mainline. Please do not interpret this as a dis to mini. The car is a well made and the reflection of the dealership should not be compared to the otherwise reliability of the Mini Motor Corporation. More

I have had a bad experience with this dealership from the beginning when I bought my 2010 Clubman new. As soon as I got it home, I noticed a rattle. It took them MONTHS to figure out what was wrong and fix beginning when I bought my 2010 Clubman new. As soon as I got it home, I noticed a rattle. It took them MONTHS to figure out what was wrong and fix it. Then, I immediately had another problem, which I'm sure was caused my damage that they did when they were trying to fix the rattle as the warning light came on as soon as I got it home from that repair, but they would not take responsibility for it and blamed me and of course, it was not covered under the warrantee. Then things started wearing quickly, like the tires, brakes...I was surprised that a 2 year old car needed new brakes and tires, then most recently the battery died. They keep telling me this is "normal" wear, but if it is, the quality of the this car is just not what it should be. Most recently when the battery died, I called Roadside assistance, who left me stranded in a parking lot for almost 5 hours, in 95 degree heat. They kept telling me they were "on their way," even saying they were there and looking at me at one point, which was obviously not true. I complained to MINI corporate about this experience, and about my car in general. They initially said they would like to make things right with me, so I asked them to buy this car back from me. After almost 2 weeks, they let me know that they refused to buy the car back, under any conditions! That tells me they must think something is wrong with the car!!!! They refused to help me in any way, saying only that they would register my complaint internally. When I asked to speak to the manager who made the decision, again they refused saying that I COULD NOT speak to him!! I also sent a complaint via email survey to the dealership, who NEVER responded to me! And by the way, on the dealership website where the "customer reviews" are listed, they must edit out the negative reviews as my review does not appear on the website. I'm getting rid of my Clubman, and will NEVER recommend a MINI to anyone, and would not recommend this dealership for anything. I think the car has great style, but the quality of workmanship is cheap and the car is unreliable. BUYER BEWARE!! More

Today I had another beyond-great service experience with MINI of the Main Line. All I can say is that they went far above and beyond expectations again. Ed and especially Dan went the extra mile, and by d MINI of the Main Line. All I can say is that they went far above and beyond expectations again. Ed and especially Dan went the extra mile, and by doing so they helped me avoid a frustrating and costly situation. They were very easy to deal with. I most appreciate that they handled things in a way that will enable me to enjoy one of my few days off... it was a day that I had been resigned to spending on dealing with car trouble, but because they were so accomodating, I can now spend the day doing something more rewarding! Thanks so much. PS. I am including Mark the motoring advisor here because he is the guy who sold me the Cooper a decade ago, and I find it amazing that if I go to the dealership once a year or so, he can still remember me! PPS. I would include Han from the service dept. as well, he is another great guy who has been very helpful. More
