Just bought my second Hyundai Tucson from Wesley Chapel Hyundai and the experience could not have been better. I’d strongly advise against making a car purchase through this dealership. To be transparent, I’m not sure if this dealership is deliberately unethical, or if they just don’t train their employees on basic s this dealership. I came in to inquire about a used car. We went through a test drive and then I told him we had a few other stops to make. He said he hoped to be our last stop and wanted to make us an offer. The sticker price was $13k. He brought out an offer of a bit over $17k total which was just not in the ballpark for what we were looking for. I told him as a salesman, I didn’t want to waste his time and that we weren’t close. He asked what I was hoping to spend and I said $12k. He then wrote down OTD $12k (Out The Door) and asked me to sign it which I thought was odd. I asked why I had to sign and he said just so he could show his manager I was “serious.” I said he could just send the manager out and I’d tell him I’m serious. He brought his manager out who insisted that he needed a sale and said he had some recent money in his budget that he was willing to use to offset selling this car at a “loss.” He said he just needed to move the car. He asked if he could offer this at $12k OTD would I purchase? He even had it wrote down and circled on the paper. I said yes, I’d come back tomorrow and purchase. We discussed and agreed to a $3k down payment. He did ask me to put the $3k down then and there so he could take the car off the lot. I’m glad in hindsight I didn’t sign anything or give these guys a cent. I came back in today, a 50 minute drive from Westchase on my day off, and that manager wasn’t there. David had a different manager come out to present different figures to us. He presented $15.5k, then my $3k down, to a finance amount of $12.5k. A complete bait and switch on the surface. The monthly payment wasn't close to what was discussed either. I referred the manager to that $12k OTD figure on the paper and he said “let me ask, where else have you seen this car at this price?” He was trying to renegotiate an offer I'm guessing the other manager wasn’t authorized to make. Instead of just saying that, they proceeded to double down that this was the offer we discussed. Again, either this is an incredibly unethical team, or they don’t understand the definition of “Out The Door” price. We agreed to Out The Door $12k with a $3k down payment. Thats $9k to be financed. We didn’t agree to $15k Out The Door with 12k financed. Those are two completely different meanings. If you don’t believe me, just view the text messages from the sales representative David Watkins, he acknowledged as much. I proceeded to leave because this was not what was agreed to. I then texted David to express my disappointment and he proceeded to insult me by saying he suggests in the future I “actually listen when having conversations.” I did listen, David. We shook on OTD of $12k as you acknowledged. Out the door means all in price (Google is your friend). You switched the Out The Door to $15k - and then bait and switched the down payment so that I’d finance $12k. And if this wasn’t a bait and switch, please educate the sales team on what “Out the Door” means in car sales if you’re going to sell cars. Whether deliberately lying or through sheer sales ignorance - this team completely wasted our time. More

Wesley Chapel Hyundai was great! I set out to look at three different specific models from three different brands of cars. I had no experience with Hyundai prior to this. It was l I set out to look at three different specific models from three different brands of cars. I had no experience with Hyundai prior to this. It was last on my list. I had no expectation of Elantra being a real contender. I worked for 33 years for a German luxury brand car company. After seeing and driving the Elantra Hybrid I was blown away. It was as nice as cars I was used to that coast at least twice as much. It rides so nice and is so quiet. It had ALL the features I was looking for. The other two brands did not have all the items I was looking for and had to pay extra for some items that were standard on the Elantra. Such as stand-alone Navi (do not need a smartphone) and traffic info included. It gets 50 mpg with plenty of pep. The Elantra has much more room than the other two brands I was considering. The other brand charges for floor mats and up to $3000 in other items I was not interested in. Dealer not only provides floor mats but adds weather tech mats front and rear. I Did purchase the Platinum warranty that extends all warranty coverage to 10 year, 100,000 miles. The car was also a unique color that is different from most cars on the road. Interior is leather, the other brands were cloth. They had several cars in stock to pick from. Other dealers did not have any to look at or drive. David in sales was the best! I have had the car for 10 days now and it is even better than I imagined. It has so many features that I was unaware of. I feel so save in this car will all the safety features provided. More
