I recently visited Huntington Beach Ford while looking to buy a new vehicle where I was looking to buy a new vehicle. My initial contact was with Danny Nguyen (Salesman) who showed me several vehicles which buy a new vehicle where I was looking to buy a new vehicle. My initial contact was with Danny Nguyen (Salesman) who showed me several vehicles which i was interested in. I was then to test drive the cars that I was interested in, through his through knowledge of the vehicle I was then able to come to a reasonable decision. Upon choosing the vehicle of my choice, my next stop was the Finance Department where I met met AJ Slaton. AJ took me through the complex world of auto finance where he explained to me in every detail every question that I had. With his years of knowledge I was able to make what I felt was a reasonable decision. AJ, was honest which is foremost when purchasing a vehicle either new or used. I I commend Huntington Beach Ford for having such knowledgeable and honest staff such as AJ and Danny. I will recommend Huntington Beach Ford to anyone I hear of needing a new or used car. My experience with HB Ford was honestly mixed. My family came in to see two vehicles over the span of a week and our experience with Danny Nguyen & Alex Barajas was 5 star. Danny did not pressure me on our first test drive, and was very helpful pointing out some features in the vehicle I wasn't aware of. When we discussed the price of the vehicle, Tony Shaw was brought in for some reason, and said he was unable to get the second vehicle off of the racks, and could not answer what work was being done. I received a follow up phone call from the dealership and made an appointment with Alex who was able to get the second car off the racks, let me know what work was being done to the vehicle, and let me test drive both several times to figure out which one we wanted. He was kind, patient, and never made me feel rushed. Amidst all of this, Tony continued to call and we made a deposit on one of the vehicles, and let him know we would be there in two days time to complete the sale. We were assured the vehicle would be cleaned when we received it (it wasn't). We were promised $200 off the sale, which was never communicated to the finance office, and so Tony promised us a second key (our vehicle only came with one), if we gave him a 5 star rating on Yelp. Tony said that he would order it that evening and to give him a day or so notice before we came in. My husband let Tony know on a Friday that I would be in on Monday to pick up the key, and Tony asked us to come on a Wednesday or Thursday to pick it up when he was in. My husband responded that I would be in that Wednesday and confirmed with him the evening beforehand. I drove the hour to the dealership from our home to learn that not only had he not ordered the key, but that he was not going to pay for it as promised. He said, "I told you I would hook you up and get you a key, but I would lose money to pay for the extra key," promising an employee discount. I continued to ask him to make it right, and the service person at the desk encouraged me to keep pushing if that's what he had promised us. After two hours at the dealership, Tony eventually gave us the key, but the lack of transparency and communication has tainted our experience with the dealership. There is no reason that Tony couldn't have asked for more time to order the key or been up front about an employee discount from the beginning. Tony spoke negatively of Alex during this time, alleging that Alex was trying to steal his sale. Overall the constant phone calls (from additional salespeople) and our experience with Tony has left our experience mixed. If you find yourself working with Tony I would encourage everything in writing over text and to clarify language that seems promising. Working with Alex and Danny was incredibly positive, and so if you are able to make appointments with them for your vehicle, I would encourage you to steer clear of Tony. More
